Tours: England Under 19s to Zimbabwe (1995-96). England to Kenya (ICC Trophy), Pakistan and Sri Lanka (2000-01). Zimbabwe (ODI) (2001).
Powerfully built right arm seamer who made his Test debut in England's win over the West Indies at Lord's in 2000. Played in the second Test of this summer against Pakistan at Old Trafford, but was then sidelined for the Ashes Test Series with a foot injury.
Toured Pakistan and Sri Lanka last winter. Did not play a Test but picked up 17 wickets in England's two first class tour matches in Pakistan.
Has played a Orange Free State in South Africa as their overseas professional.
Hails from Pudsey, home of the legendary Yorkshire and England batsman Sir Len Hutton.
Won a £ 5,000 prize for the fastest delivery (86.2 mph) in a competition to find the fastest young county bowler organised by speed gun sponsors Freeserve at Lord's in 2000.
Worked with Allan Donald while in SA on improving his run-up and approach to the crease.
Took a County record number of wickets (35) for Yorkshire in the 2000 Norwich Union National Cricket League surpassing the previous highest haul of 29 held by Howard Cooper.
Supports Leeds Rhinos rugby league team.
