Senior tours: New Zealand (1991-92), West Indies (1993-94, 1997-98) South Africa (1995-96) and Australia (1998-99).
England 'A' tours to Pakistan and Sri Lanka (1990-91) West Indies (1991-92), India (1994-95), England YC to Sri Lanka (1986-87), Australia (1987-88).
Recalled to Test cricket after a 12 month absence for this summer's Ashes series, he responded with 318 runs at an average of just under 40.
Shared in a record sixth wicket partnership of 205 with Graham Thorpe for England in Tests v West Indies in making 154, his maiden Test hundred, at Bridgetown in 1998.
Scored 133, his second Test hundred and his first on home soil, against Australia at the AMP Oval this summer.
Outstanding close-to-the wicket fielder.
Cricket Writers' Young Cricketer of the Year 1991.
Made his Middlesex debut aged 17 and scored a half century to win the man-of-the-match award in the 1988 NatWest Final against Worcestershire when only 18.
Former Middlesex captain, he moved to Surrey at the end of the 2000 season.
