Craig White

CRAIG WHITE - Yorkshire

Born 16 December 1969, Morley, Yorkshire
RHB RFM 6'1" 11st 11lb

County debut 1990.

Test and ODI debut 1994.

Senior tours: Australia (1994-95), India and Pakistan (World Cup 1995-96), Zimbabwe and New Zealand (1996-97), South Africa and Zimbabwe (One-Day Series-2000). Kenya (ICC Trophy), Pakistan and Sri Lanka (2000-1) Australia YC to West Indies (1989-90).

England A to Pakistan (1995-96), Australia (1996-97).

Returned five wicket hauls in two successive Tests against West Indies in 2000 at Headingley and The Foster's Oval. Bowled Brian Lara first-ball in the match at The Oval in a Test-best return of 5-32.

A deceptively quick bowler who can generate 90 mph deliveries from a short run-up, he is also prized for his ability to reverse swing the old ball.

Missed five weeks of cricket in the early part of 2000 after suffering a blackout while on a shopping trip in his native Scarborough. Returned to action in June with a devastating display of bowling for Yorkshire against Kent in the Norwich Union NCL - taking his first ever hat-trick in the competition.

A hard-hitting batsman, he recorded a career best 186 opening the batting for Yorkshire in this summer's Roses Match against Lancashire at Old Trafford.

Awarded a central contract after impressing during the ODI series in South Africa and Zimbabwe in 2000 following his call-up as a replacement for the injured Andrew Flintoff.

Was also called up as a replacement for the injured Ronnie Irani on England's tour of Zimbabwe and New Zealand in 1996-97.

Is a keen motorcyclist.
