"We are gonna bowl first. We have been chasing well in the past few games and our bowling is doing well, so will continue that momentum. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said: "It looks beautiful, some grass on the wicket and some bounce considering it is black soil. We have played on this before. SRH opt to bat first vs KKR

image
Toss time in Hyderabad -- Sunrisers Hyderabad win it and choose to bat first against KKR.

Pat Cummins kept it simple at the toss. He feels the pitch looks really good, with not much moisture around. Admitting he's no pitch expert, he smiled and said it looks like a belter and could turn into a high-scoring game. He also confirmed two changes: Ravichandran Smaran and Harshal Patel come in for Nitish Reddy and Harsh Dubey.

KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane said he would've batted first as well, but feels the long break has done his side some good. KKR also have made two changes -- Tim Seifert and Manish Pandey come in, replacing Finn Allen and Ramandeep Singh.
14:51

SRH aim to extend winning streak

image
Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their five-match winning streak and climb the IPL standings when they face a resurgent Kolkata Knight Riders in Hyderabad on Sunday.

SRH are third with 12 points from nine matches (6 wins, 3 losses), while KKR, coming off two consecutive wins, sit eighth in the 10-team tournament.

SRH boast a formidable batting line-up, led by Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, the tournament's second and third highest run-scorers. Explosive Ishan Kishan can turn a game in moments, while Travis Head is back in form after a 76-run knock against Mumbai Indians in SRH's last match. Youngsters Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora have also stepped up when needed.

Containing SRH's firepower will be a major challenge for KKR's bowlers. SRH are bolstered by skipper Pat Cummins' return, supported by Praful Hinge, Eshan Malinga, Reddy, and Sakib Hussain. Confidence will be high after their 65-run victory over KKR at Eden Gardens earlier this season.

KKR are on a mini revival, winning two matches after five losses and a washout. Ajinkya Rahane's continued captaincy has been debated following a lackluster IPL 2025, though he has shown glimpses of positive intent with the bat.

KKR need contributions from players like Rachin Ravindra, Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Cameron Green, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Rovman Powell, while their pace attack remains depleted and Varun Chakravarthy quiet.
