The umpires are conducting an inspection of the outfield which still looks quite damp in some places.

It is quite gloomy at the Green Park Stadium which has resulted in the ground not drying quickly enough.

The umpires also spoke to the groundstaff and the teams before announcing that they will conduct another inspection at 2pm IST.

There are some areas of concern on the outfield which are quite damp and the groundstaff are working tirelessly to get them dried at the earliest possible to get the game underway.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 3 of the rain-hit second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur on Sunday.

The match has been severely affected by the weather on the first two days.

Only 35 overs were bowled on the opening day while the second day was washed out without a ball being bowled.

The weather forecast for Day 3 is not encouraging either with rain predicted through the day.

Some rain overnight could also delay the start of play on the third day.
