3rd T20 Updates: India ease past Zimbabwe; lead 2-1

19:44   India down Zimbabwe by 23 runs

Zim 159-6 (20 ovs) vs India 182-4 | Scorecard

The match is out of Zimbabwe's reach with 42 needed from the last over.

Masakadza having some fun as he swings his bat around. He pulls Avesh through midwicket for a couple of runs before pulling the slower bouncer over midwicket for a six.

He takes a single off the third to bring up Zimbabwe's 150.

Myers attempts to cut Avesh but gets a thick outside edge which flies over short thirdman for a four.

The fifth ball is short and wide and this time Myers manages to cut it over point for back to back boundaries.

Myers is struck on the pads last ball as he misses the flick with India taking the review.

The ball has struck on the boots but is going down the leg side as India lose the review.

But India wrap up a convincing victory by 23 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Zimbabwe bounced back in the middle overs, scoring 99 runs from the last 10 overs.

Sundar was India's best bowler as he claimed 3/15 while Avesh took 2/39 and Khaleel got one wicket.

Avesh back into the attack, to bowl the 18th over. He keeps it back of length not allowing the Zimbabwe batters anything to get under.

Masakadza and Myers restricted to ones and twos as Avesh gives away just six runs in the 18th over.

Bishnoi to bowl the 19th over. Myers drives the first ball through the covers for two runs and then takes one off the next.

Masakadza swats the third ball over midwicket for a four and then takes one.

Myers lofts the fifth ball over long-on for a six to bring up his maiden T20 International fifty in grand style, from 45 balls.

He slog sweeps the last ball as Rinku does well to keep the ball inside the ropes and save the boundary.

16 runs from the over as Bishnoi gives away 37 runs from his four overs while going wicketless.

India look for a breakthrough as they bring back pacer Khaleel, to bowl the 16th over.

Madande is deceived by the slower ball and wicketkeeper Samson also fails to collect cleanly to concede a bye.

Excellent bowling from Khaleel as he bowls four dots in a row to Myers, who manages just a single from the last ball.

Khaleel gives away two runs in his final over to finish with 1/15 from his four overs.

Spinner Sundar comes back from the other end. He continues to chip away at the wicket as Madande attempts the slog sweep but holes out a catch to Rinku at deep midwicket.

Madande walks back after scoring 37 from 26 balls as Sundar picks up his third wicket.

Singles from the last three balls as Sundar gives away seven in his final over to register superb figures of 3/15 from his four overs.

India on course for victory with Zimbabwe needing 64 from three overs.
19:19   Myers, Madande keep Zim hopes alive

Medium pacer Shivam Dube comes into the attack. Singles from the first two balls before Madande is beaten trying to scoop. He pulls the fourth ball square on the leg side for a four and then takes a single off the fifth.

He gets a thick outside edge off the last ball as it flies fine on the off-side for another four as Dube concedes 11 in his first over.

Bishnoi is back into the attack. Madande takes a single from the first ball on the off-side and Myers cuts a short wide delivery past point for a four.

He clips the fourth ball through square leg for  two runs and top edges the sweep last ball for one.

Dube to bowl his second over as Zimbabwe continue to target him. Madande pulls the second ball over fine leg for a six to take Zimbabwe past 100, in the 15th over.

He uses his feet as Dube shortens his length but Madande somehow tries t pull it, but the top edge flies over fine leg for another six.

16 runs from the over as Zimbabwe recover to 110/5 in 15 overs, needing another 73 from five overs for victory.

Myers has smashed 39 from 32 balls, while Madande has hit 35 from 23 balls with the duo putting on 71 from 48 balls for the sixth wicket to keep Zimbabwe's hopes alive.

Sundar not easy to get away despite Myers and Madande looking to attack the spinners. The off-spinners continues to be tight, conceding three runs in his third over. He has conceded just eight runs in his three overs, picking up two wickets.

Abhishek leaking runs from the other end. Myers smashes an overpitched delivery straight down the ground for a four and then takes a single.

Madande punches the third ball in the gap through the covers for two runs followed by a single to thirdman.

Abhishek bowls a short ball as Myers makes most, pulling it for the second four of the over but is beaten trying to cut the last ball.

Bishnoi continues as Myers gets a single first ball and Clive Madande cuts the next past point for two runs and repeats the shot off the third ball for two more.

He takes a single off the fourth ball before Myers picks one off the fifth followed by a dot.

The spinners building some pressure as Sundar gives away just three runs in his second over.

Left-arm spinner Abhishek Sharma comes into the attack, to bowl the 10th over. Myers swings across the line as he miscues the shot for two runs on the leg side.

Myers looking to get going as he lofts Abhishek straight down the ground for a four and then takes one.

Short from Abhishek as Madande pulls it for a four.

11 runs from the over as Zimbabwe reach 60/5 in 10 overs.

Off-spinner Washington Sundar comes into the attack. He strikes second ball as Raza goes for the slog sweep but ends up holing out to Rinku Singh at deep midwicket.

Zimbabwe's hopes take a big blow as captain Raza is dismissed for 15.

Sundar strikes again in his opening over. Left-hander Jonathan Campbell is beaten by some turn as he pushes forward to defend, getting the edge as substitute Riyan Parag takes a simple catch in the slips.

Two wickets for Sundar in his first over to leave Zimbabwe reeling on 39/5 in seven overs.

Ravi Bishnoi takes a stunning catch to dismiss Bennett. The right-hander had slashed the short wide delivery from Avesh as the ball looked to be flying over Bishnoi at point. But he times his jump to perfection and plucks the ball out of mid-air with his hands fully outstretched.

Bennett is dismissed for four as Zimbabwe slip to 19/3 in the fourth over.

Sikandar Raza faces a tough rebuilding task. He gets off the mark with two runs through the covers but misses the clip off his pads next ball.

Avesh bowls a wide down the leg side before Raza plays a thumping pull shot for a boundary over midwicket.

The last ball is again short and Raza again smacks it over midwicket for back to back fours.
18:31   Khaleel strikes; Zimbabwe in trouble

Khaleel bowls his second over. Marumani is beaten first ball outside the off-stump before he cuts the next over point for a four.

He shuffles across to pull the pacer over the fine leg region but is beaten before Khaleel gets his man.

The left-hander looks to loft the pacer down the ground but ends up hitting it straight to Shivam Dube at mid-on to be dismissed for 13.

Nearly another wicket as Dion Myers plays a loose shot looking to hit through the off-side without any footwork and is beaten.
18:28   Avesh strikes; ZIm lose early wicket

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed starts off with the ball for India. He will be up against Zimbabwe's opening duo of Tadiwanashe Marumani and Wessly Madhevere.

The first ball is full and swings into Madhevere who clips it on the leg side for a single to get off the mark.

The next ball moves away as left-hander Marumani plays and misses outside the off-stump before he uses his feet to smash the pacer straight down the ground for a four.

Khaleel keeps it back of length along with some inward movement as Marumani misses the pull shot two balls in a row.

He finally connects off the last ball pulling the pacer over square leg for a four, to get nine from the first over.

Avesh Khan from the other end. He strikes first ball as Madhevere hits the short wide ball straight to Abhishek in the covers to fall for one.

Brian Bennett misses the clip as the ball goes off his pads for a leg bye and Marumani top edges the pull shot for a single to midwicket.

Bennett is beaten as he looks to slash the short wide ball over point and plays and misses again next ball.

But he bounces back as he pulls the last ball over square leg for a four.

17:59   Gill, Gaikwad power India to 182 vs Zim

India 182-4 (20 ovs) vs Zim | Scorecard

Left-arm pacer Ngarava to bowl the 19th over. Samson swings across the line but gets the inside edge which misses the stumps and goes fine on the leg side for a four.

The next ball is a full toss as Samson clips it towards midwicket for a couple of runs.

Good sharp bouncer from the left-armer as Samson tries the pull but can't connect before he hits the fourth ball for a single.

Ngarava gifts Gaikwad a full toss who easily despatches it over long-on for a six and steers the last ball, again a full toss, past the fielder at point for a four, to get 17 from the over.

Muzarabani to bowl the final over. The slower short ball deceives Samson as he swings across the line quite early but only manages to miscue it on the leg side for a single.

Gaikwad cuts the next ball for one before the pacer bowls a wide down the leg side and the wicketkeeper can't gather it cleanly to concede another extra run.

Zimbabwe's fielding has been quite disappointing in this game. It keeps getting worse as Marunami at deep midwicket puts down a simple catch to give Gaikwad a lifeline.

But Gaikwad can't make most as he falls off the next ball. He slices the full wide delivery straight to Madhevere at sweeper cover, who to Zimbabwe's relief manages to hold on.

Gaikwad misses out on a second successive fifty as he is dismissed after scoring a quickfire 49 from 28 balls, with three sixes and four fours.

Rinku Singh mistimes the pull shot on the leg side for a single to get off the mark.

The last ball is full and wide as Samson lofts it over the covers for a four.

India finish on 182/4 in their 20 overs with 55 coming from the last five overs.

Muzarabani did well to finish with 2/25 in his four overs, while Raza claimed 2/24.
17:47   Gill out for 66; India lose 3rd wicket

India 154-3 (18 ovs) vs Zim | Scorecard

Raza, who took 2/10 in three overs, is back to bowl his fourth and final over.

The first ball is a quicker ball which goes down the leg side as Gill misses the sweep but the ball beats the wicketkeeper for four byes.

The next ball is in the slot, full and on the stumps, as Gill slog sweeps it over midwicket for a six.

Gill takes a single before Gaikwad smashes the fourth ball over long-on for the second six of the over.

Gaikwad, on 33, gets a lifeline as he mistimes the cut shot but Chatara at point puts down an easy catch.

He keeps strike with a single to long-on from the last ball, as 18 come from Raza's final over.

Pacer Blessing Muzarabani is back into the attack. Gaikwad backs away but gets a thick outside edge first ball to thirdman for a single and Gill mistimes the heave on the leg side for a couple of runs.

Gill and Gaikwad take a single each as Muzarabani does well to keep it full and straight.

Gill perishes off the fifth ball as he looks to loft it down the ground but holes out to the fielder at long-on.

Gill walks back after a good innings of 66 from 49 balls, with three sixes and seven fours.

Deserved reward for Muzarabani, who has conceded just 14 runs in his three overs, while taking a wicket.

17:38   Gill hits fifty; India set for big score

India 130-2 (16 ovs) vs Zim | Scorecard

Left-arm spinner Masakadza back for another spell. Gill hits the first ball to long-off for a single before Gaikwad makes room to play another cracking inside out shot over the off-side for a four.

A single each to the two batters before Gaikwad misses the sweep off a full delivery down the leg side.

Gaikwad comes down the track to drive the last ball to long-off for two runs to get nine from the 15th over.

India are 127/2 in 15 overs, with Gill on 54 from 40 balls and Gaikwad on 26 from 15 balls. Both will look to go on the attack in the last five overs and take India close to the 200-run mark.

Pacer Ngarava comes back from the other end. He does exceedingly well to concede just three runs in the 16th over, looking to bowl full and straight.

The tight overs have somewhat dented India's hopes of getting to 200.
17:30   Gill hits fifty as India race past 100

India 118-2 (14 ovs) vs Zim | Scorecard

Left-arm spinner Masakadza continues as just two singles come from the first three balls.

Gill breaks the shackles as he uses his feet to hammer the spinner straight down the ground for a four.

But the bowler does well to end the over with two dots and give away just six runs in his second over.

Off-spinner Wessly Madhevere comes into the attack, to bowl the 13th over.

Gaikwad swings across the line but mistimes the full toss on the leg side for a single.

Gill gets the next off the middle as he slog sweeps the second ball over midwicket for a six.

Two balls later, Gaikwad comes down the track to get to the pitch and loft the spinner wide of long-on for another six.

He drives the fifth ball to the fielder at long-off who misses an easy stop to give away a boundary.

Single from the last ball as Madhevere gives away 19 runs in his first over with India going past 100, in the 13th over.

Pacer Chatara back into the attack. Gaikwad makes room to play a superb inside out shot for a boundary and pulls the next ball for one.

Gill gets a thick outside edge third ball which goes fine on the off-side for a four as the India captain brings up his fifty from 36 balls.

Chatara does well to concede just a single from the last three balls but India still manage to get 10 from the over.
17:19   Abhishek out for 10; India 2 down

Zimbabwe captain Raza strikes another blow in his third over. Abhishek pulls the short ball but ends up hitting it straight into the hands of Marumani at deep midwicket.

Abhishek disappointed he was unable to put away the short ball as he walks back for 10.

No 4 batter Ruturaj Gaikwad gets off the mark with a single and Gill swats the next through midwicket for another run.

Just three runs and a wicket for Raza, who has superb figures of 2/10 in three overs as Zimbabwe manage to pull back things.
17:14   Jaiswal out for 36; India lose 1st wkt

Raza gets the opening breakthrough for Zimbabwe, in the ninth over. Jaiswal attempts the reverse sweep but ends up slicing it straight to the fielder at point.

Jaiswal walks back after scoring 36 from 27 balls, after putting on 67 runs for the opening wicket from 49 balls with Gill to give India a good start.

Abhishek Sharma gets a leading edge first ball he faces before he takes a quick single to get off the mark.

Two more singles as Raza does well to give away just three singles while picking up the wicket of Jaiswal.

Left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza comes into the attack. Abhishek clips the first ball off his pads for a couple of runs and then takes one down to long-on.

Gill slaps the third ball for a single past point before Abhishek uses his feet to hit the spinner down to long-off for one.

Two more singles before Abhishek hammers the last ball back over the bowler's head for a four as India reach 80/1 in 10 overs, with Gill on 33 and Abhishek on 10.
17:06   Gill, Jaiswal give India a good start

Part-time spinner Sikandar Raza comes into the attack. He makes a tidy start, giving away just four singles in the seventh over.

India have slowed down considerably in the last 15 minutes with just 10 runs coming from the last three overs.

Pacer Chatara comes back into the attack. Jaiswal comes down and slashes the third ball square on the off-side with the ball going uppishly as the fielder at sweeper cover makes a diving effort but only ends up pushing the ball into the boundary for a four -- the first boundary after 16 balls.

Jaiswal shuffles across a long way and tries the scoop as he miscues it on the leg side but the fielder at short fine leg is late to react and misses out on a possible opportunity.

Jaiswal drives the fifth ball past point for two runs and keeps strike with one from the last ball.
16:59   Gill, Jaiswal on fire; India race past 50

India 55-0 (6 ovs) vs Zim | Scorecard

Pacer Ngarava is back into the attack. Jaiswal clips the first ball off his pads for a single as India race to the 50-run mark, in 4.1 overs.

Ngarava keeping it full and on the line of the stumps as Gill can't find the gap off the next two balls.

Gill does well to glance the fifth ball fine on the leg side for a four as the fielder makes a good effort but can't keep the ball inside and he digs out the yorker last ball.

Good comeback from Ngarava as he gives away just five runs in his second over.

Muzarabani to bowl the final over of Powerplay. Jaiswal offers no shot to the first ball pitched outside the off-stump and defends the next on the off-side.

Some away movement for Muzarabani as Jaiswal pushes at it without any footwork and is beaten.

Jaiswal steers the fifth ball to thirdman for one before Gill inside edges the last ball on to his pads.

Fantastic bowling from Muzarabani as he gives away just a single in his second over.

Just six runs from the last two overs as Zimbabwe pull back things slightly but India are sitting pretty on 55 for no loss in six overs.

Gill and Jaiswal have made 27 runs each to give the visitors a good start in the Powerplay.

Pacer Tendai Chatara comes into the attack to bowl the third over. Jaiswal slaps the first ball past point for a single and Gill does the same next ball for another run.

Jaiswal attempts the heave but is beaten before he defends the next on the off-side.

Jaiswal gets the fifth ball bang off the middle as he pulls it square for a four before he top edges the pull last ball which goes over the wicketkeeper for a six.

Blessing Muzarabani comes into the attack to bowl the fourth over. Gill defends the first ball before he offers no shot to the next.

Gill punches the third ball straight towards the fielder at thirdman, who fails to pick up the ball to concede a four.

Some extra bounce for Muzarabani as Gill gets the thick outside edge trying to cut as the ball flies over the slip fielder for a boundary.
16:40   Jaiswal, Gill give India flying start

Left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava from the other end. Gill offers no shot to the first ball before he flicks an overpitched delivery in the gap through midwicket for a four to get off the mark in confident fashion.

Gill mistimes the pull shot which falls safely on the leg side as the fielder at midwicket rushes but can't get to the ball.

Another short ball but this time Gill pulls it handsomely over fine leg for a six.

The last ball is full and the India skipper plays a beautiful straight drive past the non-striker for a four.

14 runs from the second over as India race to 29 for no loss in two overs.
16:37   Jaiswal gives India a flying start

India 15-0 (1 ov) vs Zim | Scorecard

Captain Shubman Gill continues to open as he walks out with Yashasvi Jaiswal with Abhishek Sharma, who smashed a 46-ball century in the previous game, dropping down to No 3.

Off-spinner Brian Bennett opens the bowling for Zimbabwe. Jaiswal defends the first two balls with caution before he drags the pull off the inside half towards the fielder at short fine leg, who makes a big mess of an easy stop to concede a boundary.

Two balls later, Jaiswal makes most of some width as he steers it past short thirdman for another four.

The spinner makes the mistake of overstepping to concede a no-ball and a free hit.

Jaiswal makes most of the free hit, swiping it high over midwicket for a huge six.

India off a flier as 15 come from the first over.
16:15   Parag, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel left out

Abhishek Sharma retains his place despite Jaiswal coming back into the team as India have as many as four openers in their top five.

Riyan Parag, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel have been benched to accommodate Samson, Jaiswal and Dube.

In another change, pacer Mukesh Kumar has been rested with Khaleel Ahmed coming into the team.

Welcome to the coverage of the third T20 International between Zimbabwe and India in Harare on Wednesday.

India captain Shubman Gill has won the toss and elected to bat in the third match.

India have made three changes with Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube -- who were part of the Indian team at the T20 World Cup -- included in the playing XI.

Hosts Zimbabwe have also made a couple of changes.
