Padikkal, Philippe give RCB a quickfire start

Philippe keeps growing in confidence. This time he takes on Boult as he lofts a full delivery straight down the ground for a six.

A couple of dot balls before the right-hander shuffles across and tries to pull it fine but is beaten by a quick short ball. He then gets a thick inside edge off the last ball trying to slog it across the line as he gets a four behind the wickets.

Pattinson continues as he starts his second over with a short ball down the leg side which Padikkal glances fine on the leg side for a four.

He then clips the next ball through square leg for two runs and then takes a single. A single to Philippe with the pull shot brings up the 50 for RCB in the sixth over.

Padikkal then comes down and makes room before lofting the fast bowler over the covers for a four as RCB race to 54 for no loss in six overs.

Padikkal continues his impressive showing as he strokes his way to 29 from 17 balls with six fours, while Philippe has raced to 25 from 19 balls as the two openers have laid a solid foundation for a strong middle order to follow.
