Badminton: Ace India shuttler Lakshya Sen won 21-9, 21-16 against Australia's Ying Xiang Lin.

Aakarshi Kashyap didn't waste much time here to win against Cyprus' Eva Kattiritzi.Aakasrshi proved her supremacy in 21-2, 21-7 victory.

Lawn Bowls: Another medal assured

India defeat England in men's fours semi-final, assured of at least silver.

India were 3-8 down after seven ends but finished the game 13-12 against hosts England. Sunil Bahadur, Navneet Singh, Chandan Kumar Singh and Dinesh Kumar have scripted history as they have assured a medal for themselves.

India have already won gold in Lawn Bowls Women's Fours Final.

23:35   Ind vs Pak in wrestling: Punia bags GOLD

In another gold medal bout, India's Deepak Punia is up against Pakistan's Muhammad Inam in the 86kg final. 

Punia pushes his opponent out of the mat and will get two points. Punia has an upper hand here, leads 3-0.

Punia has won third gold for India in wrestling tonight!

23:17   Sakshi wins second GOLD for India

Sakshi Malik is competing against Canada's Ana Godinez Gonzalez in the goal medal bout of women's freestyle 62 kg. 

Sakshi in trouble, gives away two points. She trails 0-4 now.

In the Second period Sakshi comes all guns blazing. She levelled the scores and then followed it up with a pin down to clinch the gold medal. She bagged another gold for India.

22:22   Bajrang wins GOLD, Anshu claims silver

India's Bajrang Punia is in action now against Canada's Lachlan McNeil in the 65kg wrestling final. 

The Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist takes 3-0 lead in the gold medal bout. Punia heads into break leading 4-0. The Canadian starts on an aggressive note. He is rewarded with two points for his efforts. Just 90 seconds to go and Punia leads 6-2 now for pushing his opponent out of the mat. Another point for Punia and he is just a minute away from gold.

He finishes off 9-2 to defend his title.

21:52   Wrestler Anshu claims silver

Anshu Malik's final match in the women's freestyle 57 kg wrestling is here for the gold medal tie. She is up against Nigeria's Odunayo Folasade Adekuoroye. 

The birthday girl is trailing 0-2. The Nigerian has made it 4-0. Anshu Malik got her attacking game a tad late into the tie. She claims silver 4-7. 

Meanwhile the Nigerian won her third consecutive gold at the CWG.

20:11   Divya stays in bronze medal contention

Divya Kakran stays in bronze medal contention!

Divya Kakran defeated Cameroon's Blandine Nyeh Ngiri in the women's freestyle 68 kg repechage round 2 and will face Lily Cocker of Tonga in the bronze medal match of womens 68kg freestyle

Bajrang Punia is through to the final of men's 65kg as Punia makes short work of George Ramm of England. With that, India's third wrestling medal is assured.
Birthday girl Anshu Malik has entered the final of women's freestyle 57kg with a dominating win over Sri Lanka's Nethmi Poruthotage.

Sakshi Malik has also entered the final of women's freestyle wrestling in 62kg. She defeated Berthe Emilienne Etane Ngolle of Cameroon in the semis.

Deepak Punia also entered the final after beating Canada's Alexander Moore in men's 86kg semis.

However,  India's Mohit Grewal has lost his men's freestyle 125kg semis match to Canada's Amarveer Dhesi.

19:42   Bajrang, Grewal enter semis!

Wrestling: India's Bajrang Punia defeated Jean Guyliane Joris Bandou of Mauritius in the men's freestyle 65 kg match to advance to the semi-final. 

In men's frreestyle 125 kg, Mohit Grewal defeated Cyprus's Alexios Kaouslidis to move into semis.

In Men's Freestyle 86 kg quarters, India's Deepak Punia defeated Sierra Leone's Sheku Kassegbama and moved into the semis.

While all the Indian wrestlers are on a winning start, it was heartbreak for Divya Kakran who bowed out after losing to Blessing Oborududu of Nigeria in women's freestyle 68kg quarterfinal.

Badminton: PV Sindhu is in action of her Round of 16 tie against Husina Kobugabe of Uganda.            

The two-time Olympic medallist races to win the match 21-10, 21-9.

18:59   Sathiyan moves into pre-quarters

Table Tennis: Sathiyan Gnanasekaran had to dig deep but ended up winning his Round of 32 fixture against Paul McCreedy of Northern Ireland 4-0. 

He secured his place in the upcoming round of fixtures with a clinical 11-9, 11-9, 12-10, 13-11. 

He thus advanced to the pre-quarters of men's table tennis singles.

Kidambi Srikanth sailed into the quarter-finals with a comfortable 21-9, 21-12 win over Sri Lanka's dumindu abeywickrama in their 3rd round men's singles match.

TT:  Veteran Sharath Kamal eased into the pre-quarterfinals of the Men's Singles event with 4-0 win over Australian Finn Luu in 1st round.

Earlier, Ancy Sojan failed to qualify for Women's Long Jump final. Ancy finished 13th overall (out of 18 athletes) in Qualification. Her best attempt was 6.25m (Automatic Qualifying mark: 6.75m. Top 12 qualify for final.

India advanced to final of the Men's 4x400m Relay after finishing 2nd in their Heat. 

The quartet of Amoj Jacob, Noah Nirmal Tom, Naganathan Pandi, Muhammad Ajmal, Muhammad Anas Yahiya clocked a timing of 3:06.97.


TT: India's G Sathiyan and Sharath Kamal cruise into the quarter-finals of the Men's Doubles with 3-0 win over Bangladesh's Bawm-Mohutasin.

Badminton: Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand ease into QF of Women's Doubles with 21-2, 21-4 win over Leung and Ganesha in 2nd round.

India advanced to final of the Men's 4x400m Relay after finishing 2nd in their Heat. 

The quartet of Amoj Jacob, Noah Nirmal Tom, Naganathan Pandi, Muhammad Ajmal, Muhammad Anas Yahiya clocked a timing of 3:06.97.


TT: Sreeja Akula registered a hard fought win to enter the 2nd round of Women's Singles.

Manika Batra cruises to the quarters of the Women's Singles with 4-0 win over WR 218 Australian paddler. 

Another Indian, Reeth Tennison go down to former Olympic medalist Tianwei Feng 1-4 in R16 of Women's Singles.

15:47   Bajrang, Deepak advance to quarters



Bhavina Patel, Tokyo Paralympics Silver medalist, storms into Final of the Para Table Tennis event with 3-0 win over English paddler.  


However, Sonalben Patel as she loses to Nigeria's Christiana in the women's singles classes 3-5 semi-finals in Para Table Tennis. She will play England's Sue Bailey in the bronze medal match. 



In track and field: Jyothi Yarraji finishes 4th in her Heat of 100m Hurdles clocking 13.18s. She does't make it to the final. She finished 10th overall out of 17 athletes. 

Earlier, Indian wrestlers Bajrang Punia (65 kgs) and Deepak Punia (86 kgs) advanced to the quarte-finals of their respective weight categories.

He moves into the quarters. 

Another Indian wrestler, Deepak Punia also advances to the quarters (86kg) with a 10-0 win in 1st round. He beat New Zealand's Matthew Oxenham in a bout that lasted under 3 mins.

India's Manika Batra and G Sathiyan beat Nigeria's Olajide-Ajoke 3-0 in the mixed doubles Round of 16 on Friday.

The Indian pair won 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 to enter the quarters. 

Sharath Kamal & Sreeja Akula also advance to quarters of Mixed Doubles with 3-1 win over Malaysian pair.

02:03   Sreeshankar creates history with long jump silver

Murali Sreeshankar created history by becoming the first Indian athlete to win a silver medal in the men's long jump at the Commonwealth Games on Thursday.

Sreeshankar registered a best jump of 8.08m to narrowly miss out on the gold medal behind Nairn Laquan of Bahamas.

Infact, Sreeshankar and Laquan were both tied with a best of 8.08m, but the Indian missed out as the Bahamas jumper had the second best jump at 7.98m.

Another Indian Mohammed Anees Yahiya finished fifth with 7.97m.

01:28   Boxer Tokas in semis; assured of medal
Rohit Tokas continued India's medal rush in boxing when he beat Xavier Mata'afa-Ikinofo of Niue in the men's 67kg quarter-final bout at the Commonwealth Games.

Tokas notched up a dominating 5-0 win over Xavier Mata'afa-Ikinofo of Niue to  progress to the last four stage and assure of the seventh medal for India from the ring.

01:13   Badminton: Lakshya Sen eases into Round of 16

World championships bronze medallist Lakshya Sen eased to an emphatic 21-1, 21-6 victory against Vernon Smeed of St Helena to advance to the badminton men's singles round of 16 at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Sen was up against an opponent more than twice his age -- 45-year-old Smeed -- but the Indian youngster proved to be unstoppable.

However, it was curtains for Ashwini Ponnappa and B Sumeeth Reddy, who suffered a 18-21, 16-21 loss to world number 47 Callum Hemming and Jessica Pugh in the opening round of mixed doubles competition.
