IPL 2026: SRH vs DC Updates: Sunrisers seal 47-run win

Sunrisers Hyderabad powered their way to 242 after yet another toss loss -- their seventh in a row this season -- thanks to a blazing second IPL hundred from Abhishek Sharma and a late burst from Heinrich Klaasen.

Delhi Capitals never really got a grip on the chase.

The game flipped quickly once KL Rahul and Nitish Rana fell in quick succession -- from there, the chase completely unravelled.

Harsh Dubey bowls the final over for Sunrisers Hyderabad -- and strikes immediately!

Axar Patel is caught by Nitish Reddy for 2 off 3 balls. A massive blow right at the start of the over.

Kuldeep Yadav walks in next and tries to break free with a sweep, but only manages leg byes as pressure builds. Sameer Rizvi then looks to go big but mistimes it -- and is caught by Dilshan Madushanka for 41 off 28 balls.

Lungi Ngidi is the last batter in, but he too falls on the final delivery -- caught by Madushanka off a superb running effort.

And that's it! Sunrisers Hyderabad win by 47 runs!

A dominant performance sees them climb to third on the table on net run rate, making it three wins in a row. A superb all-round display from SRH.

Axar Patel walks in as the new batter, with Sakib Hussain returning to the attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sameer Rizvi starts the over by driving wide of sweeper cover for a couple of runs. He then pushes one back down the pitch -- no run.

The batters continue to rotate strike with a few quick singles as the over stays controlled.

Just 6 runs come off it. After 19 overs, Delhi Capitals are 192 for 6, needing 51 runs from the final over.

Eshan Malinga continues for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Sameer Rizvi along with Ashutosh Sharma rotate strike with singles.

Ashutosh is then beaten on one delivery, but responds immediately with a crisp boundary off the next.

A slower bouncer follows -- too high -- and it's called wide. Another wide follows, giving DC extra runs.

Malinga then nails a superb yorker, and Ashutosh digs it out brilliantly, with Malinga himself cutting it off in the follow-through.

He follows that up with a slower cutter outside off. Ashutosh goes for the big shot but miscues it, losing shape as he lifts it tamely towards long-on. Aniket settles under it and makes no mistake this time.

Ashutosh departs for 14 off 10 balls.

A tight, crucial over -- 9 runs and a wicket from it. After 18 overs, Delhi Capitals are 186 for 6, needing 57 from 12 balls.

Then a big moment -- a chance goes down at deep cover! Sameer Rizvi looks to loft one down the ground, but Aniket gets his hands to it and spills a tough chance.

Rizvi survives and picks up a single off the next ball.

There's an LBW appeal soon after as the batter attempts a reverse sweep but is struck on the pad. The umpire says not out, and Sunrisers Hyderabad go up for a review.

Tristan Stubbs starts aggressively, smashing a huge six. He then reaches out and works the next ball to long-off for a single.

Shivang Kumar continues, and immediately gives Sameer Rizvi room outside off -- Rizvi frees his arms and launches it for a big six.

Nitish Rana looks to go big down the ground but doesn't get hold of it. The ball goes high, and Abhishek Sharma does the rest -- running in, sliding, and taking a superb catch.

Abhishek Sharma walked off unbeaten on a blistering 135 off 68 balls as Sunrisers Hyderabad produced pure carnage to post 242 for 2.

Heinrich Klaasen added the final fireworks with 37 off just 13 balls at a strike rate of 285, finishing the innings in brutal fashion.

Abhishek was the star throughout, bringing up his second IPL hundred and smashing 10 sixes in a knock that completely broke the game open.

He was also handed a lifeline on 50 when KL Rahul missed a simple run-out -- a moment DC will rue badly.

Head and Klaasen played their parts, but this was a one-man demolition job led by Abhishek.

Delhi Capitals now need 243 for victory.

The original decision is not out, and UltraEdge confirms no spike -- Abhishek survives.

Then Heinrich Klaasen takes charge -- smashing one clean over extra cover for six. And he repeats it! Back-to-back maximums, pure power.

T Natarajan continues for Delhi Capitals, bowling a slower short-of-a-length delivery. Heinrich Klaasen rocks back and guides it through point for a single.

He keeps the momentum going as Tristan Stubbs misfields, allowing another boundary to race away.

But there's a twist -- Ishan Kishan is run out! A sharp moment in the field, with Rana just managing to get a fingertip to the ball. Kishan departs for 25 off 13 balls.

T Natarajan is brought into the attack, and Abhishek Sharma greets him in style -- launching a huge six straight away. Pressure immediately on the bowler.

Abhishek then shows control as well, leaving the next delivery before ducking under a sharp bouncer. There was some weather activity earlier in the evening, and the covers came on briefly. But they've now been taken off. 

No rain was forecast for the evening, just the chance of a passing shower.

Axar wins the toss -- and it feels like he's been winning a lot of them lately.

In his 100th IPL match for Delhi Capitals, he opts to bowl first.

DC have made one chnage to their lineup, with Auqib Nabi making way for Nitish Rana.

SRH skipper Ishan Kishan feels the pitch looks different from the previous two games, expecting it to be slightly on the slower side.

They have also tweaked their XI -- Harsh Dubey and Dilshan Madushanka come in, replacing Praful Hinge and Liam Livingstone.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to cash in on home comfort when they face an up-and-down Delhi Capitals in a tightly poised mid-table clash on Tuesday.

Both teams are level on six points, but SRH sit slightly ahead thanks to a better net run rate -- even though they've played a game more.

For Hyderabad, things are finally starting to click. With Pat Cummins still unavailable, their bowling once looked thin. Not anymore. A relatively unknown group -- Praful Hinge, Sakib Husain and Shivang Kumar -- has stepped up, bringing fresh energy and control.

Hinge set the tone against Rajasthan Royals, and then a disciplined, all-round effort led by Eshan Malinga helped SRH outclass Chennai Super Kings. Their death bowling, in particular, has turned into a real strength, driving back-to-back wins at home.

The batting, though, is still a concern.

SRH continue to play a high-risk, all-out attacking game -- but it hasn't quite come together. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and stand-in skipper Ishan Kishan haven't fired consistently as a unit, leaving the middle order exposed too often.

That's meant extra pressure on Heinrich Klaasen, who's frequently walking in early. Instead of attacking freely, he's had to rebuild first -- making his job much tougher.

Delhi, meanwhile, are battling inconsistency of their own.

Big names like KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka and Tristan Stubbs have chipped in, but the team needs them to go bigger -- especially on good batting tracks. Sameer Rizvi, after a bright start, has cooled off with a string of low scores.

Their bowling, however, offers balance. With Mitchell Starc absent, Lungi Ngidi has led well, combining control with wicket-taking. Captain Axar Patel has been tidy in the middle overs, but Kuldeep Yadav is yet to hit top form. Pacers Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan have shown flashes without being consistent.
