IPL Updates: SRH crush RCB by 42 runs

Harshal Patel comes on to bowl the final over. Yash Dayal defends the first two deliveries and looks for a single but is sent back by Ngidi. On the next ball, Dayal chips it in the air - Harsh Dubey puts down a simple chance, but Dayal manages to get two runs. Another dot follows. Dayal swings and misses once more. 

Malinga continued his superb spell, delivering pinpoint yorkers under pressure. Klaasen saved crucial runs at long-on off the first ball, showcasing sharp fielding. Tim David, struggling to find timing, couldn't score off the next two deliveries. The pressure finally got to him, and on the fourth ball, he attempted a big hit but only managed to loft it straight to long-on. Klaasen, showing great composure, took a well-judged catch while stepping back and tumbling, ending David's scratchy innings at just 1 off 5 balls. With that, RCB lost another wicket and sank deeper into trouble at 179 for 7 in 18.4 overs. 

Unadkat bowls his final over and starts brilliantly - Jitesh tries to muscle one over deep midwicket but finds Abhinav Manohar, who takes a calm, clean catch under pressure. Jitesh departs for 24 off 15 balls, a big setback for RCB. Tim David walks in and gets off the mark with a single. Krunal Pandya, facing his first delivery, is beaten and then denied any runs by sharp fielding. But he finishes the over with a crucial boundary to give RCB a flicker of hope. Just 5 runs and a big wicket from the over. 

Reddy continues his tight spell, with Jitesh and Patidar only managing singles throughout the over. A well-controlled over from Reddy, applying pressure as the required run rate creeps above 12 now. 

Harshal Patel returns to the attack, but Patidar wastes no time welcoming him with a crisp boundary. The boundaries keep flowing for RCB as Patidar keeps the pressure on. He's beaten off the next delivery, then Harshal drifts wide of the crease. Patidar nudges through for a couple of runs, before lofting one up - the ball drops perfectly between long-off and deep cover, allowing him two more runs. 

Cummins is back into the attack. Patidar guides the first ball to deep third for a quick single. A wide is called outside off. 

Reddy comes back into the attack, and meanwhile Salt is down with a cramp. The physio rushes in to work on his right leg, helping him stretch out as Salt lies on his back. After a brief break, Salt looks ready to continue. The over starts with a short delivery, and Mayank pulls it to deep square leg for a single. Salt then whips the next ball to deep midwicket for a good strike. But then, trouble for RCB - Agarwal is beaten! Reddy bowls a fuller length delivery just outside off, and Agarwal tries to loft it but gets a thick outside edge that flies to Kishan. A simple catch, and RCB lose another wicket. Agarwal departs for 11 off 10 balls. 

Harsh Dubey into the attack, and he strikes gold! Kohli starts the over by pushing towards deep midwicket for a single. Salt is watchful, slicing one to point for no run, then steps down and smokes a huge six - clean and straight! A single follows, rotated nicely to extra cover. Then comes the big breakthrough! Tossed up on a good length around middle, Kohli backs away to cut, but the ball kicks up a bit more than expected. He ends up slicing it straight to point where Abhishek Sharma makes no mistake. Kohli walks back for 43 off 25 - a lively knock, but he'll be disappointed to not convert. 

Jaydev Unadkat returns for his second, and Salt begins with a pull to deep square for a single. Kohli is in no mood to slow down - smashes a boundary with utter disdain, then rotates strike with a quick single. A bouncer sails too high and is rightly called a wide.

Yash Dayal entrusted with the final over. First ball - well fielded by David at deep backward square leg, saving crucial runs. However, he appears to have tweaked his hamstring in the process and immediately walks off. Bethell comes on as a substitute.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes on to bowl his final over. Kishan drives one to extra cover - misfield gifts him a single. He follows it up with a crisp boundary, then picks up a couple more with smart placement. Drama unfolds next. Kishan shapes to reverse sweep, and Bhuvi fires it full and wide outside off. Kishan misses, and it's initially signaled a wide. But Jitesh challenges the call. Replays show the ball just brushing the edge of the revised wide guideline, and the third umpire is initially satisfied it's a wide. However, RCB players surround the umpires, urging a recheck. Upon further review, it's ruled that Kishan had moved across the stumps, bringing the delivery inside the wide line. The decision is overturned - not a wide, and RCB keep their review. Kishan responds in style, smashing the next delivery for a towering six. He ends the over with a single. After 18 overs, SRH are 203 for 6. 

Shepherd continues. Manohar flicks the first ball through midwicket and comes back for a couple. A couple of singles follow, before Kishan launches a towering six over long-on - sheer power on display. He jabs the next ball to long-off for a single, giving Manohar the strike. 

Shepherd returns to the attack. Reddy drives the first ball straight back but can't find the gap. Shepherd strikes with his second delivery - a short one angled in, and Reddy mistimes the pull straight into the hands of Krunal Pandya at short fine leg. Another failure for Reddy, who departs for 4 off 7. 

Krunal Pandya comes on to bowl his final over, operating from around the stumps. Reddy swipes a good-length delivery to deep midwicket and runs hard, allowing Kishan to bring up his fifty. Kishan follows it up with a single to deep cover. Reddy then taps one back to the bowler before driving down to long-on for another single. Kishan finishes the over in style, clearing the boundary with a clean hit, but Krunal ends with a dot. 8 runs come off the over. 

Ngidi continues, Kishan nudges one to mid-on for a single, and Reddy follows suit with another. Kishan then finds the gap with a crisp boundary to keep the scoreboard ticking. The batters rotate strike with a couple of singles to close out the over.

Aniket Verma joins the party with another massive six, but the fun is short-lived - a mis-hit flies towards point where Bhuvneshwar Kumar moves swiftly to his left and takes a safe catch in front of Ngidi. Krunal smartly slows it down and bowls full on the stumps, using his experience to break the rhythm. Verma departs for a quick-fire 26 off just 9 balls.

Krunal Pandya continues. Aniket Verma nudges one to long-on for a single. Kishan drives firmly towards midwicket but is denied a run by some sharp fielding. He makes up for it by launching the next delivery for a big six over the leg side. The rest of the over sees the batters rotating strike with singles. Solid over - 10 runs come off it. After 10 overs, SRH are 113 for 3. 

Krunal Pandya comes into the attack and keeps things tight. Kishan and Klaasen rotate the strike with singles, but no boundaries in the over. Just 5 runs from it. After 8 overs, SRH are 89 for 2. 

Ngidi continues from the other end. Klaasen steers one past backward point for a single. Kishan follows with a neat punch for two, then drives straight back to the bowler. He ups the tempo with a crisp boundary and rotates strike with a single. Klaasen finishes the powerplay in style - launching a massive six over midwicket. 

Yash Dayal continues from the far end. Head times one sweetly through the covers for a couple before Abhishek Sharma keeps the pressure on with a crisp boundary. There's a moment of drama next - a play and miss, and RCB go up in appeal, but attention quickly shifts as Dayal oversteps. No-ball! Free hit coming up. Dayal responds brilliantly with a yorker that beats the bat, then tightens up with two dot balls to end the over. Still, 13 runs come from it. After 3 overs, SRH are off to a flying start at 39/0. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar shares the new ball, coming over the wicket- but this time, it's in Royal Challengers Bengaluru colours. After years of spearheading the Sunrisers Hyderabad attack, it's a strange sight seeing him bowl against his former side. 

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head walk out to open the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take the field with stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma rallying the troops in the pre-match huddle. Yash Dayal has the new ball in hand and will operate over the wicket to Abhishek, with a slip in place.
