Eng 167-6 (44 Ovs) & 407 vs India 587 & 427 decl | Scorecard

Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes are back in the middle after lunch, with just three balls remaining in the over. Woakes pushes forward and gets a genuine nick, but it doesn't carry - no run. Two more dot balls follow to complete a wicket maiden. After 41 overs, England are 153 for 6.

Ravindra Jadeja continues. Smith welcomes him with a boundary, piercing the gap with precision. He then defends solidly before finding the gap again for a single. Woakes sees out the remainder of the over with steady defence. Five runs come off it - after 42 overs, England move to 158 for 6.

Washington Sundar continues. Smith starts with a block, then plays one towards the off side for no run. A moment of danger follows - Woakes is nearly caught short at the non-striker's end as Siraj fires in a sharp throw, but they scramble back and pick up two. He follows it up with a single. Woakes then pushes one to the right of extra cover to steal another. Smith finishes the over with a late cut that races to third man for four. Eight runs off the over - England now 166 for 6 after 43 overs.

Jadeja presses on. Woakes is watchful, defending the first delivery before taking a single. He blocks the rest of the over with composure. Just one off it - after 44 overs, England are 167 for 6.
