Siraj finishes off the match in grand style. He bowls Atkinson with an inch perfect yorker which goes under the bat and uproots the off-stump.

Siraj finishes with sensational figures of 5/104 to bowl India to a six-run victory -- their narrowest win in Test cricket.

India manage to draw the five-match Test series 2-2.

'I felt really guilty when I dropped the catch because the match turned from that point and I had to deliver with the ball,' India's star performer with the ball Mohammed Siraj.

The Indians are taking a round of The Oval to thank the packed gathering inside the stadium.

What an amazing comeback from the Indians to fight back after getting bowled out for 224 in the first innings. It was their bowlers, who delivered once again, as England came into the final day with 35 needed for victory with four wickets in hand.

Siraj did the damage as he picked three of the four wickets to fall on Day 5.

Prasidh starts with a full toss as Atkinson flicks it in the gap at midwicket for two runs. Woakes is grimacing as he comes back for the second run, he looks in a lot of pain.

Atkinson does well to tap the last ball pat the non-striker for a single to retain strike.

Chris Woakes walks in to bat wearing a sling and will bat left-handed with just one hand. His left arm is hidden inside the sweater as he holds his bat with one hand while walking out to bat.

England need 17 for victory and India need just one wicket.

Siraj continues as Atkinson slogs the first ball over the top as Akash Deep backtracking at long-on dives to his right but only ends up palming the ball over the ropes for a six.

England need 11 for victory!

Short ball hurries into Atkinson who mishits the pull shot into the leg side but turns down the single.

A full delivery from Siraj honing into Atkinson, who makes room but gets the inside edge to fine leg.

Two balls left in the over. Can India deny Atkinson the single?

Atkinson swings across the line but misses out on a full stump getting an inside edge as Jurel makes a good stop diving to his left.

India have pushed all the fielders back with only Gill the catching fielder at slip.

Atkinson misses a full wide delivery but Woakes calls him across for a quick bye. Wicketkeeper Jurel misses the direct hit and Siraj is not pleased with his efforts.

Atkinson cuts the first ball from Siraj to thirdman for a single before his partner Tongue is beaten two balls in a row on the outside edge.

He somehow manages to survives the next two balls before he is beaten on the outside edge again, for the third time in the over.

In the next over, Atkinson miscues the pull shot for a single on the leg side before Prasidh strikes with the last ball with the wicket of Tongue, who is bowled off the last ball.

That was an unplayable yorker from Prasidh at 141kmph as it beat Tongue on the inside edge and crashes into the stumps off the pads.

Atkinson slashes hard at Prasidh as he gets the thick outside edge which goes on the bounce to thirdman placed very fine, which results in just a single.

Prasidh strikes with the wicket of Tongue, who is given out leg before wicket.

Again the DRS is taken. This time the ball is clearly missing the leg stump as the decision is overturned.

Tongue is then strike on the pads by a full delivery swinging in but the leg before shout is turned down as the ball is clearly going down.

Tongue watchfully leaves the last ball as he survives the over.

Atkinson is beaten twice as he pushes at the wide deliveries from Siraj before he misses the flick to collect a leg bye as the target comes down to 20.

Siraj strikes another blow as he gets Overton leg before wicket.

The right-hander missed the flick and was struck in front before he immediately takes the DRS.

The ball is clipping the outside of leg stump as the umpire's decision stands.

This is a huge moment in the game as Overton is given out for 9 and England slip to 354/8, still 20 away from victory.

No 10 Josh Tongue keeps out the last ball.

India are not taking the second new ball as Prasidh continues with the old ball.

Top bowling from Siraj to start the final day. Prasidh will also need to up his game and get his line and length right.

Prasidh will also look to bowl wide. Overton defends the first ball before he gets an under edge trying to pull which is stopped on the bounce by Jurel.

He then chases a wide delivery swinging away and is beaten on the outside edge.

Overton pulls the fourth ball for a single to deep square leg to bring up England's 350.

Atkinson is beaten on the outside edge before he slashes the last ball past point for three runs.

Mohammed Siraj from the other end. Jamie Smith plays a loose shot, poking at a very wide delivery without any footwork, and is beaten on the outside edge.

The next ball is full and swings away as Smith is beaten again trying to drive.

Smith down the track but is beaten as the ball swings a long way and goes past the outside edge.

The Indians are all confident as wicketkeeper Jurel takes the catch but umpire Dharmasena wants to take another look.

Siraj has struck with his third delivery as Smith is caught behind for 2 as England slip to 347/7, still needing 27 for victory.

New batter Gus Atkinson gets the edge first ball he faces as he pushes forward to Siraj but K L Rahul, at second slip, is unable to get his fingers underneath the ball to miss out on a possible catch.

Atkinson drives the fifth ball into the covers before he gets a leading edge last ball for two runs to deep point.

The first ball is halfway down as Overton easily pulls it through square leg for a boundary.

He nearly drags the next ball back on to the stumps, getting an inside edge which misses the stumps and goes fine on the leg side for another four.

Overton is beaten as he plays away from the body before he inside edges the last ball on to the pads.

England have opted to use the heavy roller, which should ease the pitch for the first 25-30 minutes, reckons Sanjay Bangar on JioHotstar.

The conditions are overcast at The Oval which should help the Indian pacers, with 3.4 overs to go for the second new ball.

The first 30 minutes of Day 5 could decide the contest. India will need to strike within the first 3-4 overs, while England will look to bat out the first few overs without losing any wickets.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 5 of the fifth and final Test between England and India at The Oval on Monday.

We are set for a thrilling finish on the final day of one of the most closely-contested series in recent times.

India need four wickets to clinch victory and level the five-match series at 2-2.

England are the slight favourites, needing just 35 for victory with four wickets in hand.

Set a stiff 374 for victory, England came up with a dominating batting performance courtesy of centuries from Joe Root (105) and Harry Brook (111), putting on a superb fourth-wicket partnership of 195 runs.

England closed in towards securing a famous victory over India when bad light and torrential rain ended an extraordinary fourth day.

But India will also fancy their chances after a few quick wickets late on the fourth day. Brook played a wild stroke to be caught at mid-off off the bowling of Prasidh Krishna.

The young Jacob Bethell also fell to a rash shot for five and Root, having completed a masterful 39th Test century, nicked a catch to wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel off Krishna to spark wild Indian celebrations.

In mounting tension, Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton struggled to get bat on ball, surviving several frenzied appeals before the umpires decided it was too dark to continue.

The players left the field and shortly afterwards a heavy rain shower made conditions unplayable, depriving the crowd of a tense finale to a day of unremitting drama.
