Anuj Rawat, who has been excellent with the gloves, makes no mistake with the catch. The TV umpire is called to check if the ball has hit the spider cam wire, but it's confirmed that there was no contact. Jitesh has to depart after scoring 27 runs off 20 balls.

Pitch Report

Pitch Report:

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is set to explode tonight as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the first of three home games for RCB. This high-scoring pitch, known for its short boundaries (60 meters on either side and 70 meters straight), promises a thrilling run-fest.

Last year, the average first-innings score here was a whopping 196 runs, and with a hard pitch offering quick runs and plenty of boundaries, history suggests another fireworks display is on the cards.

While some superficial cracks and dry patches might introduce a touch of unpredictability, the overall batting-friendly surface should see the ball come onto the bat nicely under lights.

Both teams will be eager to capitalise on these conditions, with RCB seeking their first win of the season and PBKS aiming to build momentum after their opening victory. Get ready for an exciting contest!

IPL Updates: Can RCB overcome Punjab Kings' challenge?

image
Hello and welcome to the updates of the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings.

RCB's bowling attack, a known weak link, came under fire in their opening IPL 2024 defeat.

They now face a daunting task against a resurgent Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the batting-friendly M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

During their loss to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB's pacers overused the short-ball strategy on a slowing Chepauk pitch, while the spinners lacked bite. Bengaluru's spin attack will find even less assistance on their home ground, known for its short boundaries and lightning-fast outfield.

Meanwhile, PBKS enter the match high on confidence after a clinical performance against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday. While they have their own concerns, like Jonny Bairstow's lack of runs and Sam Curran's inconsistency, the win over DC might have masked those issues temporarily.

This encounter promises to be a battle between RCB's batting firepower and their bowling frailties, against a confident PBKS outfit seeking to build momentum.
