Punjab dominate powerplay

Nandre Burger continues his spell, and Prabhsimran Singh begins confidently, dead-batting one straight back to the bowler.

He soon frees his arms, stepping out to collect a couple, before smashing back-to-back boundaries in quick succession. A single to finish the over keeps the scoreboard moving. Punjab Kings add 11 off the over and reach 48 for 1 after 4.

Next up, Brijesh Sharma is introduced into the attack. Prabhsimran mistimes his drive to mid-off for no run but rotates strike with a single soon after. Cooper Connolly looks compact, defending well and picking up a couple of singles alongside his partner. Just 4 runs come from the over, with Punjab at 52 for 1 after 5.

Burger returns for his third over of the powerplay, and Prabhsimran greets him in style--launching a huge six. He follows it up with a quick single as Connolly nudges one to mid-off, where a sharp dive from Jofra Archer saves a few runs.

Connolly then joins in, picking a full toss and dispatching it for four. A strong finish to the over brings 13 runs from it. After 6 overs, Punjab Kings are cruising at 65 for 1.
