Shiney Ahuja gets bail in maid rape case

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja who was sentenced to seven years' rigorous imprisonment by a fast track sessions court in Mumbai for raping his maid, has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court.

However, the actor can't leave India and has to pay a security bond of Rs 50,000. The court granted the bail saying the probe in the case was over and his custody was not required any more.

Ahuja was arrested on June 15, 2009, after preliminary medical tests on the maid confirmed sexual assault. He was charged under the IPC Section 376 with rape, along with wrongful restraint and intimidation.
