Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a brilliant half-century as Rajasthan Royals crushed Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in their rain-curtailed match in Guwahati.

Having posted a formidable 150 for three in the game that was reduced to 11-overs-a-side, RR bowlers restricted MI at 123 for nine to register their third victory in a row in IPL 2026.

Asked to bat first, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi  went on the attack from the start, as the two youngsters smashed their way to 80 runs in only five overs.

Jaiswal top-scored with an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls, while the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi plundered 39 runs in just 14 deliveries, including whacking the great Jasprit Bumrah for two sixes in his very first over.

The start of the match was delayed by over two and half hours due to persistent rain.

Burger to bowl the ninth over. Thakur glides the first ball fine off his pads for a four and then takes one to long-on.

Dhir does well to cut the short ball over point for another boundary before he perishes next ball.

He looks to loft the RR pacer down the ground but hits it straight to Bishnoi at long-on to fall for 25.

The last ball is down the leg side as Deepak Chahar misses the glance but it goes fine off his pads for four leg byes.

Sandeep to bowl the third over for RR. Thakur has a big swing first ball but fails to connect before the pacer bowls a wide.

Another well-disguised slower ball as Thakur has another big swing but fails to get bat to ball.

He finally gets bat on ball hitting the pacer down the ground for two runs followed by another wide.

Thakur (8) falls off the fourth ball as he skies the ball high attempting to slog it over midwicket and Jurel completes the catch.

Rutherford gets a lifeline as he mistimes the lofted shot off Bishnoi but Jaiswal puts down a simple catch a long-off.

Rutherford clips the second ball through midwicket for two runs followed by a wide down the leg side.

A single each to the two batters before Rutherford steers the spinner towards point where Sooryavanshi fails to stop the ball and concedes a four.

The last ball is hit uppishly past the diving Parag in the covers for another boundary to the West Indian.

Deshpande back into the attack. He starts with a slower bouncer which climbs quite high but Dhir manages to ramp it over short thirdman for a four and then takes one.

Rutherford then smashes a full wide delivery over the covers for a six to bring some cheer back to the dressing room.

A poor delivery from Deshpande as he gifts Rutherford a full toss on the body which he despatches over fine leg for another six.

However, Deshpande has the last laugh. He looks to cut the slow off-cutter but ends up getting it off the outside edge and Sandeep Sharma takes a superb low catch diving forward at short thirdman.

Rutherford walks back after a quickfire 25 from eight balls, as MI slip further.

Deshpande against his long-time Mumbai team-mate Thakur, who miscues the full toss off the leading edge for a single over point.
