NZ 180-3 (50 ovs) vs India 46 | Scorecard

The umpires have taken the players off the field because of bad light. After India captain Rohit confirmed he would continue with pacers, the umpires had no option but to halt play due to bad light.

At stumps on Day 2, New Zealand are sitting in control on 180/3 in 50 overs to stretch their lead to 134 runs.

They dominated the day courtesy of their pacers. Matt Henry took 5/15, while Will O'Rourke claimed 4/22 to bowl out India for 46 in 31.2 overs -- their lowest total in a Test match at home.

New Zealand dominated with the bat, courtesy of Conway's sparkling knock of 91.

Ravindra was unbeaten on 22, while Mitchell on 14 at close of play on the second day.

Unless India can grab a few quick wickets early on Day 3, New Zealand look on course to build a sizeable which could ensure they bat just once in the Test match on a pitch which is gradually getting difficult for batters.

New Zealand stretch lead on Day 2

NZ 180-3 (50 ovs) vs India 46 | Scorecard

The light has faded considerably as the floodlights taken full effect, with around 10 minutes left for stumps.

The Kiwis batters are easily dealing with the spinners, as they collect three singles from Ashwin's 11th over.

Rohit looks for a breakthrough as he makes a change in the bowling, bringing back Siraj.

Mitchell defending with utmost caution, not wanting to take any chances so close to stumps.

He keeps out the first three balls before taking a single on the leg side. Ravindra also content to block the last two balls of the over.

Pace from both ends as Bumrah replaces Ashwin. The light has faded quite rapidly in Bengaluru.

If light permits, play could be extended by half an hour till 5.45pm IST.

Bumrah beats Mitchell on the outside edge as he looks to defends the length delivery. The wicketkeeper and the slips look quite confident but not so much Bumrah.

Rohit not so sure as he sensibly decides against the DRS. Mitchell clips the pacer off his pads through square leg for a couple of runs.

Bumrah goes full and wide as Mitchell has an easy leave and blocks the last two balls.

New Zealand are 180/3 in 50 overs for an overall lead of 134 runs, with seven wickets in hand.

Ravindra has stroked 22 from 34 balls, while Mitchell has made 14.

Ashwin strikes; Conway out for 91

NZ 174-3 (47 ov) vs India 46 | Scorecard

There is a fielder pushed back to long-on for Jadeja against Mitchell, who likes to loft it straight. He does well to drive the ball down to the same fielder for an easy single.

Ashwin from the other end. Mitchell again goes to the reverse sweep as he gets it to short thirdman for one.

Ashwin has definitely struggled against New Zealand's game plan, giving away 43 runs from his 10 overs.

Jadeja rushing through his overs. He gives away three singles from his 10th over as New Zealand's lead keeps ticking along.

Ashwin strikes; Conway out for 91

NZ 167-3 (44 ov) vs India 46 | Scorecard

Ravindra plays another cracking shot. He drives the full toss from Ashwin straight down the ground back past the non-striker for a four.

He has looked to be positive, racing to 17 from 14 balls.

The left-hander hits the third ball down to long-off for a single and Mitchell clips Ashwin off his pads and wants the single but is sent back.

In the next over, Mitchell misses the sweep off Jadeja and is struck on the pads. The spinner is pretty confident but not umpire Michael Gough.

With India having just one review left, they decide not take a chance with the DRS.

That ball struck Mitchell on the arm and could have bounced over.

Ashwin looks in much better rhythm in his second spell. Left-hander Ravindra is drawn forward as he looks to defend the flighted delivery which drifts in with the arm before turning sharply after pitching to go past the outside edge.

Ravindra watchfully keeps out the last few balls as Ashwin bowls his first maiden over of the innings.

The umpires are checking to see whether substitute Dhruv Jurel's gloves were in front of the stumps.

Conway unlucky to miss out on a century, as he hit 11 fours and three sixes during his 105-ball knock.

Ashwin disappointed during his first spell of six overs for 31 runs but he has bounced back quite well.

Daryl Mitchell opens his account as he reverse paddles Ashwin fine on the off-side for a four.

This is a deliberate ploy from the Kiwi batters to disrupt Ashwin's rhythm with the sweeps and reverse sweeps.

Jadeja strikes; New Zealand 2 down

NZ 154-2 (39 ov) vs India 46 | Scorecard

Kuldeep has struggled to contain the flow of runs, conceding 57 runs in 12 overs, at nearly five per over.

New Zealand have a lead of 97 runs on a pitch getting gradually difficult for batting courtesy of uneven bounce.

The spinners are getting quite a lot of purchase and the Kiwis will be happy to bat most of tomorrow and finish with a lead of more than 250. They will be looking to ensure that they don't need to bat again in this Test.

Pant looks in a lot of pain as the physio attends to him. Substitute wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel comes out to the middle to take over the gloves as Pant looks unable to continue.

Infact, Pant looks in a lot of pain. He is unable to walk and has to be helped off the field.

New Zealand not looking in any rush. Young and Conway happy to bide their time and gradually build the lead.

Young again fails to read Kuldeep as he is beaten on the outside edge trying to defend.

However, the next ball is a big letdown. Kuldeep drops it short and also gives width as Young has enough time to rock back and cut it behind point for a four to release the pressure.

Nearly a wicket off the next ball. A huge misunderstanding after Young clipped the spinner to square leg where Jadeja swooped in quickly.

However, the throw is at the wrong end. Jadeja throws it to the bowler's end but Conway is able to get back to his crease easily. If he had thrown to the wicketkeeper then Young could have been in trouble.

Young gets the outside edge which stays low and goes past the slip fielder for two runs to raise the 50-run stand for the second wicket from 89 balls.

That came at a good height to Blundell, who got his gloves to it but shockingly ended up grassing the ball leaving his team-mates in the slips in disbelief.

The ball went off the thigh pads before Jaiswal is struck on the pads by the full delivery which swings into him.

This was a top over from Henry as he had Jaiswal all at sea against the moving ball.

Will O'Rourke comes into the attack in place of Southee. The first ball is full as Kohli defends with a solid front foot movement and blocks the next.

Kohli offers no shot to the next two balls before he fends the extra bouncing delivery on the stumps on the leg side, to where the short leg fielder would have been.

The ball has struck the pads in line but the tracker judges that there is too much bounce as it rules that the ball is clipping the top of the stumps. The decision stays with umpire's call as Rohit has a narrow escape.

Rohit pushes the third ball into the off-side for a single.

A huge appeal for leg before wicket against Jaiswal this time and again umpire Michael Gough is not interested. No review this time from the Kiwis as the height could have been an issue.
