The BJP-led government, in its action taken report on the Jain Commission final report on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, says that the alleged ''involvement and complicity'' of the tantrik and the ''role'' of the Janata Party president should be probed. It also wants the CBI to recommend how to proceed further against the Tamil Nadu chief minister for his alleged ''tacit support to the LTTE.'' The final report has cleared Tamils's misgivings on the Commission's interim report which led to the fall of the I K Gujral government. ''Support of Tamil cause is different from having deep nexus with the LTTE operatives in the materialisation of the assassination,'' the Commission said. ''By no stretch of imagination such a meaning or sense can be given to the expression as has been given to it.''

India's foreign policy needs a new direction
'India has formed, within SAARC, a Quadrangle Growth Area along with Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. India should also include Sri Lanka (and if possible, the Maldives).
