CBI seeks extradition of Warren Anderson

Just in: The CBI moves a Delhi court seeking extradition of Union Carbide Corporation Chairman Warren Anderson in the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy case. Details soon.The agency will seek Anderson's extradition from the US for his trial in the Bhopal gas leak case of 1984 which had claimed thousands of lives.

The CBI's decision follows the government's decision to seek a fresh trial of other accused under section 304-part II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The agency believes that Anderson jumping bail and being declared an absconder could help in securing his extradition.
