EC drops Ganguly as brand ambassador

The Election Commission has dropped Sourav Ganguly as its brand ambassador following protests by the Trinamool Congress that he was associated with a particular political party and that he had worked as an ambassador of the West Bengal government, particularly the WBIDC.

In fact, Ganguly wanted to withdraw after row over his political bias. The EC will now reuse the campaign, to promote and popularise voting,with MS Dhoni and APJ Abdul Kalam.
