Gill misses out, Axar vice-capt

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia was the first to arrive at the press conference table, followed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and finally Suryakumar Yadav joins him.

Agarkar confirmed Shubman Gill's omission, saying, "Shubman has been dropped due to combination. When you pick 15 players, someone has to miss out. Unfortunately, it's Gill this time again.'

Jitesh Sharma has also been dropped, with Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh coming into the squad.
