Col Muammar Gaddafi's stronghold in the capital Tripoli is tense ahead of protests during Friday prayers today. (Remember the deadline for Hosni Mubarak to step down and the call for the million man march in Egypt also came on a Friday).

The revolt, which broke out in mid-February to end Col Gaddafi's 41-year rule, has shown signs of stalemate.
