India all out for 76, biggest loss by runs in T20I cricket

India suffered a massive 125-run loss to England in the third T20I to concede an unassailable 0-2 lead in the five-match series in Nottingham on Tuesday.

Sent in to bat, opener Philip Salt blasted seven fours and three sixes en route to a 44-ball 70 to guide England to an imposing 201 for seven. For India, Harshit Rana (2/40) and Prince Yadav (2/30) snapped two wickets each.

In reply, India folded for 76 in 11.4 overs with only four batters managing to score in double digits.

India lost their first five wickets inside the Powerplay to derail their chase early.

Jofra Archer (3/29) and Josh Tongue (4/28) shared seven wickets.



Adil Rashid continues and Varun survives three balls and a boundary before being bowled out. India all out for 76.


Prince Yadav is the new man in and after a dot he is off the mark with a couple as a wicket and 2 runs come off it.


Tongue continues and after three dots, Rana cuts the ball, but Tom Banton dives to his left to take a fantastic catch at backward point. He is out for 9 off 13. India now 9 down.

Varun Chakaravarthy is the new man in and after three dots, he is off the mark with a single.

Rana takes a single off the last ball of the over as a wicket and 4 runs come off it.



Adil Rashid is back in the attack and Arshdeep starts the over with a couple.

Arshdeep is then done in by the googly as he goes for the slog sweep, gets a top edge and is caught by Buttler and he is out for 4. India lose 8th wicket.

Arshdeep is the new man and he is off the mark with a single down the ground as he backs away and slogs it down the ground.

Harshit then gets under the short bouncer.

He then cuts the ball past backward point for a single. 

Arshdeep makes room and slogs the ball, it flies towards short third man, Buttler and Curran call for the catch, neither takes it and the ball falls in no man's land. Arshdeep takes a single. A wicket and 3 runs come off it.


Tongue is back in the attack and after a dot, Dube gets an under edge on the pull and he is out for 2. India now 7 down.


Shivam Dube is the new man in and he is off the mark with a single to point.

Rana and Dube then take a single each off the next two balls before Rana plays two dots to end the over as a wicket and 3 runs come off it.



Will Jacks continues and Tilak comes down the track, misses the wide ball, Buttler breaks the stumps quickly to have Tilak stumped but he is unsure if he has held the ball while breaking the stumps. The third umpire is called into action and the replays show that Buttler had the ball just enough in the glove while breaking the bails and Tilak is out for 3 off 11.


Adil Rashid in the attack now and Rana starts the over with a four as he flicks the ball past square leg for a four!

A single later, Tilak plays three dots before he takes a single to end the over as 6 runs come off it.

Surprise move by India as Harshit Rana comes ahead of Shivam Dube as Will Jacks comes into the attack.

A dot to start the over before Tilak and Rana take a single each off the next two balls. 

Tilak then plays three dots as just 2 runs come in the 6th over and England are on top here at the end of the Powerplay overs.


India in deep trouble here as Tilak Varma comes out to bat and he is off the mark with a single to square leg.

A dot later, Axar cuts the ball past the short point fielder for a four!

Short ball again and Axar ramps it over the keeper for a six.

Archer continues to keep it short but tightens the line this time, Axar goes for the cut again and is caught behind out for 10 and India are 5 down now inside the Powerplay overs. 2 wickets and 11 runs come off it.


Axar Patel is the new man in.


Archer continues, he bowls a half volley on the pads and Iyer clips it straight to the fielder at backward square leg and that is a lucky break for Archer as Iyer is out for 5. 

Josh Tongue continues and Kishan and Iyer take singles off the first two balls.

A dot later, Kishan mistimes the pull but manages to send the ball sailing over backward square leg for a six!

A dot later, Kishan pulls it straight to the fielder at deep backward square leg and he is out for 13 off 9. 
 

Shreyas Iyer is the new man in and after a dot, he is off the mark with a four as he clips the ball to fine leg as a wicket and 9 runs come off the over.


Archer continues and after a dot, Kishan edges it hard past the keeper for a four to third man.

Kishan then takes a single.

Archer strikes next ball as he bowls a quick bouncer, Sooryavanshi goes for the pull, gets the edge and is caught behind by Buttler. Sooryavanshi is out for 13 off 5. India lose both openers.

Ishan Kishan is the new man in and he is off the mark with a single to deep point. A wicket and 15 runs come off it.


Josh Tongue opens at the other end and Abhishek starts the over with a six over deep point.

A single later, Sooryavanshi whips the full ball over deep mid-wicket for a six!

Sooryavanshi then gets an inside edge down to long off for a single.

Abhishek then mistimes the short off the short bouncer as he looks to go over point but mistimes and is caught at deep point. He is out for 10 off 7.


Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi come out to chase a record 202 for victory as Jofra Archer opens the attack and Abhishek starts with a lofted flick over mid-wicket for a couple to open his and India's account.

Abhishek then swings and misses as he is beaten while coming down the track.

Abhishek is then beaten on the inside edge as the ball seams back in, the ball is holding up in the pitch a little.

Abhishek then takes a single.

Sooryavanshi is then beaten for pace as he goes for the pull.

Sooryavanshi then gets a thick and sends the ball over deep backward point for a six to get off the mark as 9 runs come off the opening over.
