Just when it looked like Jaiswal and Gill were beginning to get the runs, Santner strikes and India lose the 2nd wicket. 


Kohli is the new man in and he sees off the over safely.


Santmer continues and after a dot, Jaiswal drives the ball down to long on for a single to bring up India's 50.

Santner then hits Gill thud on the pad, low and right in front, big shout and the umpire raises the finger. Gill doesn't review and walks back for 30. India lose the 2nd wicket. 


Ajaz continues and Jaiswal is caught in his crease.

Jaiswal then goes for the big slog, and a top edge falls in no man's land behind the keeper and he gets a couple.

Jaiswal then gets a single as he plays the ball to the leg side.

Gill then plays three dots as 3 come off it.



Santner continues and he gets the ball to turn in and thud into Gill's pads. Big shout, no says the umpire. NZ get on with it.

Santner then gets the next one to turn on pitching as the ball goes just past Gill's outside edge.

Two more dots later, Gill short arm jabs the ball over mid-wicket for a four. A dot to end the over as 4 come off it.



Left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel is back in the attack and after a dot, Gill sweeps the ball to deep square leg for a single.

Jaiswal then plays the ball to backward point for a single.

A dot later, Gill cuts the ball and takes a quick single.

Jaiswal then prods at the ball and a bat-pad chance goes just past short leg fielder and that is a dot to end the over as 3 come off the over.



Santner continues and Gill starts the over with a single to the leg side.

Full ball next and Jaiswal uses the switch hit to perfection to play the ball over point for a boundary.

Four dots to end the over as 5 come off it.


Southee continues and Gill defends first ball. 

A dot later, Gill goes after the full length ball hitting it over the bowler for a six!

A dot later, a misfield allows Gill to take a single. A dot to end the over as 7 come off it.
