Bumrah back for the ninth spell of the day. A tired Bumrah starts with a full toss which Lyon drives past point for a four.

The India pacer oversteps to concede an extra run before Lyon takes two runs to point.

Bumrah finally finishes off Australia's innings at the fag end of the day as Lyon is caught third slip by Rahul, who manages to grab the ball between his legs.

But the umpire rules it a no-ball for overstepping to continue India's frustration.

The last two Australian batters have now played 50 balls each while adding useful runs.

Lyon clips Bumrah to deep square leg for two runs to raise the 50-run stand for the last wicket from from 108 balls.

He gets a thick outside edge off the last ball which flies past the slips for a four as Bumrah concedes 14 runs from the final over of the day.

Australia reach 228/9 at stumps on Day 4, for an overall lead of 333 runs.

The last pairing of Lyon and Boland batted bravely to douse out India's hopes of pushing for victory.

No 10 Lyon stroked 41 from 54 balls, while Boland was solid in defence to score 10 from 65 balls as the duo added 55 from 110 balls to give Australia the upperhand.

Bumrah brought India back with his four-wicket haul, while Siraj bowled with a lot of fire to pick up 3/66 but they struggled to finish off the Australian last wicket.

Sundar comes back into the attack. Lyon takes a single before Boland continues to block solidly and play out the over.

Australia are 207-9 in 80 overs but India don't take the second new ball as Akash Deep continues.

Lyon takes a single first ball before India take the second new ball. Boland misses the clip off a delivery down the leg side as India appeal for the catch down the leg side which is turned down.

Boland runs the third ball down to thirdman for a single before Lyon drives the fourth ball straight down the ground for a wonderful four followed by a single off the last ball.

The last pair have now put on 41 runs from 17 overs faced in total.

Lyon sweeps Sundar to fine leg for a single to bring up Australia's 200 as slowly but surely the lead keeps growing.

Lyon growing in confidence as he slog sweeps Jadeja through square leg for his first boundary followed by a clip off his pads for one.

Boland, after blocking a few full deliveries, nudges Jadeja off his pads for a single on the leg side.

Akash Deep is back into the attack. He has a huge shout for leg before turned down off the first ball after Boland is struck on the pads.

Rohit needs a lot of convincing before he takes the review at the very last second.

The ball is going down to miss the leg stump as India lose their third and final review.

He is beaten off the last ball as Akash Deep gets some late away movement.

Change of ends for Jadeja as he swaps ends, taking over from Bumrah. Lyon edges the first ball which goes past the slip fielder for a single.

Boland keeps out the next few balls before he is beaten on the outside edge off the last ball.

Spin from both ends as Washington Sundar comes back into the attack, to bowl just his second over.

Lyon drives the first ball down to long-on for a single and Boland clips the fourth ball for another run.

Lyon misses the sweep as Sundar appeals for leg before wicket which is turned down and India don't take the review with just one in hand.

Boland is beaten as Jadeja gets some slight turn. Pant tries his best to convince Rohit to take the review, who is unmoved.

Boland looking quite comfortable against both pace and spin, he played out 48 balls while scoring eight runs.

Lyon has made 16 from 33 balls with the last pair putting on 26 from 12 overs played out so far.

Siraj back into the attack in place of Jadeja. Lyon pushes the first ball into the leg side for a single and Boland does well to fend a short ball into the off-side, short of the gully fielder.

Boland taps the fifth ball towards point and steals a quick run. Reddy swoops in quickly to his left and misses the direct hit narrowly, with Lyon clearly struggling to make his crease.

21 overs left in the day as Australia's lead approaches the 300-run mark.

Bumrah beats Boland on the outside edge as he pokes but does well to block the next. He watchfully keeps out the rest of the over, offering a dead bat block to every delivery pitched up.

Siraj starts his new over with a bouncer as Lyon ducks under before he takes a single on the off-side.

Boland plays a cracking cut shot off Siraj for a boundary over point to take Australia's lead past 300. The next ball is pitched up and he does well to block it with a straight bat.

Nearly a wicket as Lyon gets the edge trying to run the spinner down to thirdman. Rohit dives across to his right but can't get to the ball for a single to thirdman.

Lyon misses the clip off Bumrah as he picks a leg bye. The pacer has a confident shout for leg before turned down as Boland is struck on the back pad after the ball moves away late.

Bumrah goes full as Boland does well to push it into the covers and keeps out another full ball.

The two batters have now stayed at the wicket for six overs, putting on 16 runs as Australia inch closer to 300-run mark to frustrate the Indians.

Australia's last pair are scoring some invaluable runs to stretch the lead. Lyon drives the full delivery from Jadeja through the covers for two runs before he misses the flick but takes the leg bye.

Boland clips the spinner on the leg side for a quick leg bye but the direct hit from Siraj gets them another run courtesy of the overthrow.

The last pair has put on 10 runs as Bumrah is called back into the attack. Lyon blocks the first ball before he misses the clip next ball and collects the leg bye.

The full delivery swings into Boland, who is struck on the pads, as India appeal for leg before wicket which is turned down as the ball is clearly going down.

He again fails to get bat on ball but manages to collect the leg bye before a misfield from Nitish at mid-on gets them a single.

India take the review after Boland is struck on the pads but again the ball is going down. India lose their second review and have just one more left.

Siraj puts down a catch on his follow through as Lyon gets a leading edge closing the face of the bat early in his attempt to flick. He got both hands to it but failed to hold on.

Lyon misses the flick as the ball goes square on the leg side off the pads for two leg byes. India have taken the review but the ball is comfortably missing the leg stump.

Lyon plays a nice drive through the covers off a wide half-volley for three runs to collect some important runs for the hosts.

Jadeja back into the attack. He strikes with the first ball of his new spell, getting the vital wicket of Cummins, who pushes forward but gets the edge and is caught by Rohit at slip.

Cummins walks back after a good hand of 41 as Australia slip to 173/9, for an overall lead of 278 runs.

Lyon gets a lucky boundary as the edge off Siraj goes in the gap between the first slip and wide slip fielder for a four.

He keeps out the next few balls before getting hit on the pads and taps the last ball on the leg side.

Cummins taking a lot of responsibility with the bat. He is not attempting any rash shots but looking to just stay in the middle.

He makes most of some width from a tiring to cut the pacer through point for a boundary.

Siraj gets the ball to jag into Lyon as he is hit on the pads and collects the leg bye. Cummins guides the back of length wide delivery past the slips for two runs before the edge next ball falls short of the slips.

Cummins pulls the last ball over midwicket and settles for a single to keep strike against Bumrah.

Siraj continues as Lyon clips the first ball off his pads for a single and Cummins drives the fifth ball past the gully fielder for three runs.

Lyon is beaten on the outside edge last ball as he pushes forward to block.

Australia are 161/8 in 60 overs, for an overall lead of 266 runs. Their primary target will be 300, which would make it a challenging chase for the Indians in around three sessions and more. But India do have the likes of Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma, who of if they get going are capable of chasing any total.

Cummins doing well to bat out time. Australia will not want India have too many overs to chase down the runs.

There are still around 28 overs left in the day plus 96 on the final day. Australia will look to bat for atleast the next 15 overs and add another 50 runs to their total if their lower order can hang around with Cummins.

Cummins was getting off strike when Labuschagne was out in the middle, now he is doing the same for Lyon as he plays out a maiden over.

Jadeja boosting India's over rate with a quick over, giving away two singles in his eighth over.

In the next over, Starc smashes Siraj straight back as Reddy at mid-off dives to his left and comes up with a fantastic stop to save some runs.

Siraj tries the bouncer as Cummins ducks under it before he drives the last ball through the covers for two runs.

Bumrah comes back into the attack and Australia lose another wicket. This time it is not Bumrah, who strikes, but Starc is run out after a huge misunderstanding with his captain.

Starc had clipped Bumrah to square leg and wanted the second but Cummins was never interested. He only wanted a single as Starc came charging back hut had to rush back halfway down.

Rohit threw the ball back to Pant, who got his gloves off and hit the stumps at the non-striker's end with a direct hit.

Australia down to 156/8, for an overall lead of 261 runs.

Cummins will look to not only farm the strike but also get some runs to take Australia's lead close to 300.

Cummins clips Bumrah's fourth ball in the big gap at midwicket but doesn't take the single.

A peach from Bumrah as the full delivery swings a long way into him, beating the inside edge and bouncing over the stumps. But the fast bowler has overstepped for a no-ball and an extra run for Australia.
10:33   Siraj strikes; Labuschagne out for 70

Labuschagne clips the overpitched delivery from Bumrah through square leg for a couple of runs to raise the 50-run stand for the seventh wicket.

Another couple of runs for Labuschagne in the same area but the pacer has overstepped to concede another extra run.

He watchfully drives the last ball to the fielder at mid-off.

Jadeja bowls the quicker ball which drifts down the pads as Cummins plays a neat glance fine on the leg side for a four.

The Australia skipper getting a big stride forward to smother Jadeja's flighted deliveries.

Siraj replaces Bumrah. He strikes with the first ball of his new spell as Labuschagne is given out leg before wicket before he immediately takes the DRS.

Labuschagne was struck high on the pads by the incoming delivery. The ball is going on to clip the top of the stump as the decision stays with umpire's call.

Labuschagne makes his way back after a good innings of 70 as Australia are reduced to 148/7, with an overall lead of 253 runs.

Denied the new ball after a lacklustre showing so far, Siraj has stormed back with excellent figures of 3/40.

Even though Australia lead by 253, the momentum seems to be firmly with India at the moment courtesy of their pacers.

Mitchell Starc clips the last ball of his pads for two runs to get off the mark and bring up Australia's 150.
10:18   Labuschagne revives Australia

Bumrah gets the ball to slant away late, beating Labuschagne on the outside edge and that was not far from the off-stump.

He produces another beauty to beat Labuschagne again, who also seems to acknowledge the Indian's mastery with the ball.

He is beaten again off the last ball for another maiden over -- the third in a row after the tea break.

In the next over, Cummins gets a thick outside edge as the ball flies past the slip fielder for two runs and then takes one down to long-off.

He keeps out the last few balls to ensure Labuschagne stays on strike against Bumrah.
10:09   Labuschagne revives Australia

Bumrah, as expected, starts off with the bat in the post-tea session. Labuschagne taps the first ball on the off-side and defends the next to mid-on followed by a leave.

He drives the fourth ball with good timing but to the fielder at mid-off before he is beaten on the outside edge as Bumrah gets the ball to move away and the last ball is blocked back to the bowler.

Ravindra Jadeja from the other end. Cummins looking to get forward and defend before he leaves one which goes straight on but far from the off-stump.

A good drive from Cummins to long-off but interestingly doesn't take the single to avoid Bumrah from the other end.

Jadeja rushes through his third over, as Labuschagne takes a single and Cummins keeps out the next five balls.

Washington Sundar into the attack to bowl the final over of the session. Labuschagne clips the first ball through midwicket for a couple of runs. 

He takes a single off the fourth and Cummins keeps out the last two balls with caution.

Sundar has also finished his over quickly allowing time for one more over by Jadeja.

Jadeja to bowl the final over. Labuschagne punches the first ball to long-off for a single and Cummins leans forward to block the flighted delivery.

Jaiswal drops his third catch of the day! Cummins pushes the ball straight into Jaiswal at silly point, who can't get low enough to take the catch.

Australia go into the tea break on 135/6 in 49 overs, for an overall lead of 240 runs.

Labuschagne has kept Australia's hopes afloat with a solid knock of 65 from 118 balls, while Cummins has stroked 21.

Australia scored 82 runs in 24 overs in the session while India stormed back with four wickets.

Spin for the first time after tea as Jadeja comes back into the attack. Labuschagne hits the first ball through the covers for a single.

Cummins glances the fifth ball fine as Jadeja stays on the pads for a boundary and defends the last ball with caution.

Akash Deep starts his new over with a loose delivery as Labuschagne has enough time to pull the short ball square for a boundary. 

He nearly falls off the last ball as he defends and the ball hits the pads before going back but bounces back over the stumps. That is a close shave for Labuschagne, who was earlier dropped at gully by Jaiswal when his score was 46.

Akash Deep bowls a wide half-volley which Cummins square drives through the covers for a four.

Australia have looked to put the pressure back on India, hitting 26 from the last four overs.

Cummins has tried to be positive, hitting 21 from 28 balls, while Labuschagne is on 60.

The duo have put on 39 from 60 balls to steady Australia's innings after the early wickets.

Labuschagne pushes Siraj on the off-side for a single to complete an important fifty for Australia, from 105 balls.

Cummins makes most of some width, hitting Siraj past point for three runs and Labuschagne clips the next through midwicket for two runs and takes one off the next.

Just one over for Bumrah in his last spell as Akash Deep comes back. Cummins looks to loft the pacer over the top but miscues it high as Nitish Reddy runs back from mid-off and puts in the dive but can't get to the catch.

He smashes the next over the off-side for two more but doesn't take the single after gliding the next to fine leg.

Bumrah pushes Labuschagne to midwicket but decides against the single off the first ball to shield Cummins.

He watchfully plays out a maiden over from Bumrah, not wanting to expose his captain against the fiery Indian pacer.

Cummins gets off the mark as he steers Siraj behind point and runs for all four. Akash Deep had made a good diving stop to save the boundary but the two Aussie batters ran all four. Infact, Siraj was already walking back to the start of his bowling mark even before the throw could come back and Kohli is not impressed as he wanted to try for a run out at the non-striker's end.

Siraj bowls a high bouncer to Cummins which sails high over and is ruled a wide.

The last ball is down the leg side as Cummins shuffles across but misses the glance. Siraj interested in the catch down the leg side but Rohit says it has come off the thigh pad.

Akash Deep replaces Bumrah, who brought India back with a match-turning spell of three wickets for four runs in three overs.

Akash Deep unlucky as Jaiswal puts down a simple catch at gully. That could prove to be quite costly as Labuschagne is well set on 46. He played a poor shot, trying to run it down to thirdman.

That is the second dropped catch by Jaiswal today, he had earlier put down Khawaja.

Australia are 100/6 in 40 overs for an overall lead of 205 runs.

The wicket of Head was Bumrah's 200th wicket in Test cricket! He got the landmark in his 44th Test at an unbelievable average of 19 -- the best any bowler who has claimed 200 or more wickets!

Bumrah is the fastest Indian pacer to 200 Test wickets. He is the fourth quickest in the world to the 200-wicket milestone, having achieved it off 8484 deliveries bowled.

After dominating most part of the Test, Australia find themselves in trouble on 91/6.

This is some unbelievable statixstic. Bumrah has 29 wickets in the series at an average of 12 at a strike rate of 26. The next best is Pat Cummins with 17 wickets.

Their hopes will rest largely on Labuschagne, who is looking good on 43.

Labuschagne drives Siraj through the covers for a couple of runs before he pushes away from the body and is beaten.

Another play and miss from the Australia No 3 as Siraj gets some extra bounce.

Labuschagne manages to retain strike with a quick single from the last ball of the over.

Labuschagne has settled down nicely amid the chaos at the other end. He taps Siraj for a single on the off-side and Carey clips the third ball through midwicket for two runs.

Alex Carey is beaten by some extra bounce as he misses the pull shot with Pant making a good diving stop.

Bumrah leaves Australia in a complete mess. He produces another cracking delivery to clean up Carey for two as Australia collapse to 91/6.

The length ball from round the wicket line swings in a long way to beat Carey on the inside edge and deflects into the stumps off the pads.

Bumrah has picked up three wickets in the space of 11 balls to turn the match on its head.

Mitchell Marsh needs a big knock to justify his place in the team. He has fallen for single digit scores in four of his five innings in the series so far, tallying 69 runs in five knocks before this.

Bumrah bags another wicket in the series. Marsh's poor run with the bat continues as Marsh looks to defend but gets the edge as Bumrah extracts some extra bounce.

Marsh walks back for a duck as Australia slip to 85/5 in 34 overs, with an overall lead of 190 runs.

Bumrah has taken 3/25 in 11 overs to boost India's hopes of an unlikely victory.

Smith inside edges the first ball for a single to square leg and Labuschagne takes one off the next.

Smith hits Siraj uppishly through the covers for a boundary as he makes his intent quite clear. He again plays an uppish drive but short of the fielder at mid-off.

Nitish Reddy comes into the attack in place of Akash Deep. Labuschagne makes most of some width, driving the pacer square past point for two runs.

The next ball is too full and this time the right-hander flicks it in the gap at midwicket for another couple of runs.

Wicketkeper Rishabh Pant up to the stumps. Labuschagne misses out as he cuts the short wide delivery but can't get it past the dive of Jaiswal at point.

Another short ball which he looks to run down to thirdman but Kohli's diving stop saves some runs.

The next ball again kicks off from length and this time Labuschagne is struck on the arm. He looks in some pain as he immediately calls for the physio.

He continues after some treatment, watchfully defending the last two balls on the off-side.

In the next over, Smith taps Bumrah on the off-side and wants a quick single but his partner is not interested.

'What's happening? These two are the best of mates and playing together for a long time,' exclaims Justin Langer on commentary.

Spin for the first time as Ravindra Jadeja has been called to bowl the final over of the session. Labuschagne flicks the first ball, a full delivery,  through midwicket for three runs before Smith defends the rest of the over.

Australia go into the lunch break on 53/2 in 25 overs, for an overall lead of 158 runs.

Labuschagne survived a fiery spell from Bumrah to be unbeaten on 20, while Smith has made two.

This has been a wonderful performance by the Indian pacers, led by the brilliant Bumrah, who took 1/18 in eight overs across two spells.

Siraj also got back his rhythm as he dismissed Khawaja for 20.

India will look to grab a quick wicket or two after lunch as batting could become easier once the ball starts to get a bit old.

Akash Deep is back into the attack in place of Bumrah. Captain Rohit telling Akash Deep that he has a couple of overs to bowl before lunch and to give it his all.

He is getting the ball to move away quite a bit as Labuschagne is again troubled by the inswinger and struck on the pads after offering no shot but the impact is quite high.

India's pacers have been quite impressive in the first 20 overs, as Australia's top order has found it tough to cope. With a bit of luck, India could have picked up a few more wickets as the ball has gone past the edge consistently.

Labuschagne has had a tough battle against Bumrah, who has been relentless with his line and length.

He plays a superb drive through the covers for a boundary as Bumrah makes a rare error with his line, bowling a wide half-volley.

Bumrah back into the attack as Akash Deep gets a break. He is on the mark first ball as he beats Labuschagne with a beauty as the right-hander pokes and misses.

Labuschagne hits the next past mid-off for a couple of runs before he is hit on the pads by some late away movement which opens him up completely.

The fourth ball is full and swings into Labuschagne, who misses the flick and survives the huge shout for leg before. The ball is clearly going down as India avoid taking the review.

Bumrah has been creating a lot of problems for Labuschagne right through the series. Once again the incoming delivery beats him on the inside edge and strikes him on the pads.

The ball is clipping the top of leg stump which means the decision stays with umpire's call as Labuschagne has a narrow escape.

Some inswing for Siraj as Labuschagne gets it off the inside half towards square leg for a couple of runs and he keeps out the last two balls.

Australia are 32/1 in 13 overs, stretching their lead to 137 runs.

Khawaja quick to pick up the length as he rocks back to pull Akash Deep over square leg for a boundary.

Siraj gets some extra bounce as Labuschagne gets the edge trying to defend but again short of Kohli at second slip.

Khawaja is beaten a couple of times on the outside edge by Siraj, who seems to be finding some rhythm.

Change in the bowling as Mohammed Siraj replaces Bumrah, who bowled a fantastic first spell of 1/9 in five overs, to provide India with the early breakthrough.

He starts off bowling too wide as Khawaja easily leaves the first four balls before keeping out the last two balls.

Akash Deep continues. Labuschagne misses the flick off the full incoming delivery as the bowler is interested in the LBW appeal but no one else is.

Labuschagne guides the third ball to fine leg for one and Khawaja watchfully keeps out the rest of the over.

Khawaja very watchful as he keeps out the first five balls from Akash Deep before taking a single off the last ball to retain strike.

In the next over, Khawaja uses his feet to disrupt Bumrah's rhythm but is beaten on the outside edge. A couple of balls later he plays and misses again despite using his feet as back of length delivery goes past the outside edge.

He taps the fifth ball on the off-side for a single and Labuschagne gets off the mark with one from the last ball.

The Indian players have been buoyed by that early wicket of Konstas. A lot of chatter from behind the stumps, mostly from Virat Kohli in the slips, to lift his pace bowlers.

Akash Deep gets the ball to jag away late as Labuschagne is squared up in his defence and hit on the pads. There is a confident shout for leg before but the impact is quite high.

The last ball beats the right-hander on the outside edge as he pokes away from his body.

Konstas has a close shave as he is squared up trying to defend and again the edge falls short of Jaiswal at gully.

He seems to be in some pain as the physio is called out, who puts a tape on the elbow.

Bumrah from round the wicket has Khawaja all at sea. He is getting the ball to talk, getting it to swing away and beat the left-hander on the outside edge three balls in a row.

He finally gets bat on ball as he defends Bumrah on the leg side followed by another block.

The last ball is down the leg side as Khawaja glances it fine for a four to end the over on a high.

He bowls a beauty to beat Konstas on the outside edge, who plays down the inside line. The opener drives the fifth ball through the covers for two runs followed by another play and miss.

Bumrah also getting the new ball to move. This time left-hander Khawaja is beaten on the outside edge as he pokes before he is nearly done in by another cracking delivery from Bumrah, who bounces and swings away to beat the batter.

Khawaja, on 2, gets a lifeline as he clips Bumrah straight to Jaiswal at leg gully, who barely has time to react and puts down the tough chance.

Jasprit Bumrah starts off with the ball for India. Sam Konstas taps the first ball into the covers for a single to get off the mark and Usman Khawaja gets the third ball off the inside half to fine leg for one.

The fifth ball goes fine off Konstas' pads as he collects two leg byes. He comes down the track and has a big swing last ball but fails to connect.

Spinner Nathan Lyon from the other end. Reddy uses his feet to hit the first ball to long-on and takes a single off the first ball and Siraj gets one off the next.

Reddy sweeps the third ball behind square for a couple of runs. He backs away a long way to hammer Lyon straight back past mid-on for the first boundary of the day but can't get a single off the last ball.

Cummins up against Siraj, who defends the first two balls before ducking under a bouncer. He steers a full toss on the off-side for a single and Reddy shuffles across a long way to clip the pacer to fine leg for one.

Cummins from round the wicket beats Siraj outside the off-stump as the Australians appeal for caught behind. Umpire Michael Gough wants to have a check with the TV umpire for bump ball.

The third umpire rules that it has bounced after hitting the bat after watching just two replays. The Australians are not too impressed and Pat Cummins wants to take the DRS.

The commentary team including Adam Gilchrist and Ravi Shastri are not convinced either with the third umpire's decision.

But Australia finish off the innings in the next over. Reddy comes down the track but hits Lyon straight to Mitchell Starc at long-on.

Reddy's fantastic knock comes to an end as he is dismissed for 114 with India bowled out for 369 in 119.3 overs.

Australia take a sizeable first innings lead of 105 runs.

India lasted just 21 balls on Day 4, scoring 11 runs before losing the wicket of centurion Reddy, who scored a memorable maiden century at the MCG.

He was instrumental in helping India make a sensational comeback as he defied the Australian bowlers for most of Day 3, hitting 11 fours and a six in his 189-ball knock.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 4 of the fourth Test between Australia and India at the MCG on Sunday.

The young Nitish Reddy stole the show on Day 4 with a maiden Test century at No 8 to help India bounce back from a desperate situation.

India fought back to reach 358/9 in 116 overs, trailing Australia by 116 runs.

Walking in at the fall of the team's sixth wicket with just 191 on the board in reply to Australia's first innings total of 474 all out, the 21-year-old Reddy made an unbeaten 105 off 176 balls, and was involved in a record partnership of 127 for the eighth wicket with Washington Sundar (50 off 162 balls).

Courtesy of Reddy's superb knock, India not only avoided the follow-on but also managed to inch closer to the Australian total after starting the day 310 runs in arrears and with their top five batters back in dressing room.

Reddy reached the three-figure mark with a fine lofted shot over mid-on off Scott Boland, and his father's presence at the MCG made it even more memorable for the youngster.
