Michael Essien, ChelseaGhana stole a lot of hearts at the World Cup, largely because of Michael Essien (right, in white). He was the powerhouse of the midfield as the Black Stars played attacking, attractive football.
And football fanatics are still debating what would have happened had Essien not missed out of the match against Brazil because of one yellow card too many.
He is also the second-most expensive player in the star-studded English Premier League club team.
And speaking of hearts, the womenfolk would be delighted to know that Essien was among the top 10 World Cup hunks, according to a Hellomagazine.com poll.
