Former Delhi CM Khurana still bitter

Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana is still bitter about the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership's decision to retain Sahib Singh Verma as Delhi chief minister.

Disclosing this, legislators close to Khurana said he is still unwilling to discharge his responsibilities as party vice-president, though he had withdrawn his resignation.

Khurana, they said, is also reluctant to attend the BJP's four-day ''training'' camp beginning on Saturday at Jhinjoly, near Sonepat, in Haryana.

The former chief minister wants the party to resolve the issues raised by him. However, when contacted, Khurana refused to divulge his plans.

Khurana's supporters, who held a meeting on Friday morning, alleged that Verma was intimidating them and keeping Khurana under surveillance.

They criticised Verma for circulating stories that he would replace four Delhi ministers with his own men. If this is done, ''he must be ready to face the consequences''.
