At Bangalore, Rahul Gandhi fails to impress

March 29, 2008
The Congress claimed that the rally was not political and it was aimed at encouraging the youth to join the party. Although Rahul did call on the youth to join the party, several senior leaders also grabbed the opportunity to speak about the misdoings of both the Janata Dal - Secular and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The other speakers comprised a Dalit leader (Mallikarjuna Kharge), a leader from the Other Backward Class (Siddaramaiah), a Muslim (C K Jaffer Sharrief), a Lingayat ( M P Prakash) and a Vokkaliga ( S M Krishna).

The strategy of the Congress was clear and it is now evident that these leaders have been chosen to woo their respective communities in the state.
