At Bangalore, Rahul Gandhi fails to impress

March 29, 2008
I have shaken thousands of hands and when I did that I could understand the characteristics of the person. When I shook a farmer's hand, I felt the cuts on his hand. This speaks of the work he does. However, one thing I realised in Karnataka is that whether I shook the hand of a farmer or a computer engineer, they were all hard workers."

Rahul also spoke about his experience at an orphanage, where a young girl sang a song called I am nobody's child. "I am your brother and hence you should not consider yourself alone," Rahul told the child.

He further said no child should think that he/she is alone. "They should realise that I am there for them," he said.

A large number of party workers had assembled to hear Rahul speak, as they were curious about the youngest politician of the Nehru-Gandhi clan.
