Karu Nagarajan said they would herald in the next generation politics in the state. Looking at the various protests around the state, he said it was obvious that people were not satisfied with the government.
Both Dravidian parties (DMK, AIADMK) were taking turns to rule and this had done no good. It was their turn now, he said, adding that the people needed an alternative.
Nagarajan indicated that Vijaykanth, another actor-turned-politician who leads the Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam, could not be seen as an alternative, as he could win only one seat out of 234.
Another speaker mentioned that S was a winning alphabet. S stood for Sachin in cricket, Sania in tennis and Sarath in politics. Another mentioned that Sarath could upset the DMK and AIADMK just like Dhoni and his boys did in the World Cup.
