There was a lot of expectation by the Indian American community that Madia would also be given a speaking slot sometime in late afternoon, but apparently it had not panned out.
Madia told rediff.com, "They told me I was one of the finalists but I have not heard anything after that."
But Madia added that he was excited to be attending "my first convention and I think it is going to be great and there are a lot of people that I want to meet".
Another Indian American whom the community was hoping would get a speaking slot was Kansas state legislator Rajiv Goyle, who along with Sebelius had been among some of the first people in the American heartland to strongly endorse Obama.
