Quake Experience: I was taking bath ... all of a sudden my legs began to shiver and I heard loud noise coming out from around my building. Clad in my towel I ran outside...I saw many students running to safer place crying " bhaago ! bhaago ! Bhukamp !. I couldn't decide what to do.Shall I run simply wearing a towel? I risked to dress up myself before the escape. After dressing I went outside and saw whole of the Christian Colony students gathered at what they thought were safe places. I came back after a moment and turned on the TV set. NDTV India was showing the panicking politicians at chandigarh. All other news channels were following the same.The intensity was told to be between 5-6 with minor reports of destruction.

Quake Experience: I was getting ready for my office when this happened. Initially I did not feel anything although wife kept saying that there is an earthquake but I ignored it. Then I noticed the water in the bottles kept on the dining table were shaking then I realised that it really happened. Immediately I alongwith wife ran out of my 1st Floor apartment to the ground. There were people all around shouting and yelling. For a while I was under shock.

Quake Experience: It was horrifying. That's what I can say. It was around 9:25 am when I was getting ready for the office. I was wearing shoes when my mother shouted that its a quake. I felt it and thought that it will be over with in 4-5 seconds. But it continued for atleast 2 mins. I was so frightened that was not able to decide what to do.
My grandpa started chanting. Earth was shaking like a big see-saw. those 2 mins. were so horrifying that I really felt myself near to god. I could hear the screams coming from the neighbourhood. People came out of the houses. But there is no place to hide when mother nature is willing to teach a lesson.
I felt so helpless that I was not able to do anything at that time. if that quake lasted for few more seconds or came with higher intencity then definitely wrost could happened. I wanted to save myself, my family my loved ones but was helpless. Helpless against mother nature.
I have firm believe in God but from now on my faith in God has got more strenght. I thank to God that everybody is fine & normal.

Quake Experience: Today morning i was working in my office and at around 9:20 or 9:30 our office building started shaking little bit, that time we thaought that it is a small shake and it will be fine within few minutes but in few seconds our monitors started shifting from the table "here and there" and than we ran down from the building and we saw more than 100 persons were standing down because of this. It was the first time in my life when i felt this much shake from the earthquake.

Quake Experience: I still cant believe.
We were in a meeting in the assembly hall. Around 1000 staff was sitting there.we women were sitting in a row. Suddenly I felt as if something in my head is spinning very fast, and I felt very giddy. I thought my blood pressure is increasing and I am having high B.P.since I am hypertensive. I got so nervous. I started thinking to ask my colleague to take me out as I was feeling very giddy. suddenly other ladies started complaining that they are feeling giddy, and all of a sudden many ladies stood up and panicked that 'it is earthquake' and we all tried to go out of the hall. Men colleague could not understand that there is an earthquake.everybodywas panicked, and suddenly there was an announcement that let ladies go first...nothing to worry... and all that, but everybody was so panicked and wad running towards the main door.
I, including few other ladies felt palpitations and severe headache, and nausia.We felt the tremors for ...say about an hour. We came to know about the earthquake and its severity from TV,as soon as we came down. My GOD, it was severe. were It was horrible and very very scary.It is 3 o'clock and we 2 ladies are having splitting headache and discomfort of very strange type.
Our office building has 12 floors, we are still scared.

Quake Experience: Today was holiday. I was laying in Bed and watching TV News when suddenly My Bed started rattling vigorously. I thought My wife may be clening something under the Bed. I looked under the Bed but found nothing. Immediately in a fraction of second It flashed in my mind that it is earthquake. Myself and my wife came out of our flat and informed the neighbours and in seconds we all were in the ground.The earthquake lasted for about 2 minutes.
In fact I was feeling uncomfortable since morning as I get up at about 6 am. There were a strange kind of vibrations in my body and mind and I was feeling as If I am going to fall downany any moment.I told my feelings to my wife also who is a doctorate in Psychology. Somehow I cintinued my routine activities.
The same kind of feeling was also there when Tsunamy was there last year but on a smaller scale.
I tried to corrilate my feeling on both the occasions.
I personally feel that my sixth sense is comparatively more doveloped and my body stars giving me signals whenever there is some natural calamity is going to happen in near future.
Being a Bio-medical scientist myself I am offering myself for the scientific community to study my sixth sense.

While sitting on chair,I was reading news paper, than suddenly i was unable to read it, i saw around me and out of the window, it seems that every thing was right. Againg i tried to ready newspaper than i noticed that my had are vibrating and my TV trolly was moving than i saw mad rush out side in open space. I used to put my Nokia Mobile standing near to my monitor at my work station suddenly I saw without any Missed Call or Message it fell down from table, Instantly I've seen that the ceiling fan above on my head was moving as pendulam, and even the walls of our cubicle were shivering. Everybody in our office till that time felt the termors and rushed outside to the covered premises to the open parking slot. It was horrible and made me recall the experience of Bhuj Quake. Thanks Almighty for saving us from the disaster and keep well others who suffered.

Quake Experience: I have experienced four earthquakes or after shocks in Chennai. The latest being the last year tsunami quake.
The best way to confirm an earthquake is to look at bottle (or can) of water resting on a flat surface (a table or floor). At more than three occasions I did confirm by looking at the water move violently on its own that it is an earthquake and not a headache or feeling of being moved. As I live in a 8-floor apartment it helped me and my neighbors to get out quickly. Thank goodness our building had no damages all the four times.

Quake Experience: Today being 2nd Saturday, our office remains closed but due to audit of accounts of our company, somwe finance deptt. poeople were in ofice 9 am and I could feel that my chair is shaking, first I thought that it is due to Metro work going on under our tall building of Nirmal Tower which is 17th storeys and our office is at 14th floor. in seconds there was 2nd heavy shock and NOW i cloud make it that it is earthquack and I alongwith my collegues rushged immediately by staircase but I was not sure that we will reach the ground floor from 14th floor alive, such was the shock by tremors and secondly our building is vry sleek and known to evweryone in Delhi. However I am thankful to Almighty to save us and everybody here in Delhi, but I am feeling very bad to learn that scores of people have perished because of the tremors in J & K State, the state I belong to.

Quake Experience: Real Terror for 5 minutes which appeared like 5 long years. Every thing was shaking. Fans and hanging lights were shaking like pendulems. Bed was moving as if some one is striking it from below. Immediate rememberance of Bhuj earthquake as well as sunami came into mind. Since like us most of the people in cities live on higher floors where the impact multiplies and also could not immediately go to open areas. I wonder Are our buildings really earthquate proof or we will have disaster one day as we continue to grow vertically? This is a big question. Looking forward to know what people living in high rises should do for their safety as it is impossible to go out in open in such a short time.

Quake Experience: I and my wife were sitting on bed at 9.25am in gurgaon Dlf and suddenly the bed started shaking first we taught somebody was driilling on wall then when we saw the shandelier started shaking and when my wife got up to see out she was not able to stand and then we ran out in lawn of our apartment and people of 14th floor of our apartment had already reached down and there experince was more than us bcoz we stay on 5th floor of the building.

I thought that it was my passing thought when my colleagues rushed to my office and said that there was an earthquake.

Quake Experience: This was my first experience , really i enjoyed a lot , i saw fan moves like pendulam and my body was shaking due to quake i thought my body was shaking in dreams.Family of my colony was out when i was in the balcony of third floor. It was nice and enjoyable experience but what if it's scale above 7 , i think i dead without thinking anything.That was the best death of anyone.

Quake Experience: WE living in south delhi area experienced the tremours clearly on our 2nd floor house when the floor started shaking.I was reading the paper when my wife told me that is the floor trembling & shaking when i and my mother realized that it indeed was. We Woke up our children who till then were asleep. We all decided to leave for the ground floor in a trice and as we were coming down the quake still came with more intensity as the stairs were still shaking. We reached the ground floor open area to find many more people living on higher floors had already come down in the open for safety. I only thank GOD for saving our lives and pray to almighty that nomore such quake should victimise the people of Delhi as it has our other brothers & sisters in J&K and in Pak elsewhere in North India. May Goddess Durga who is manifested in the form of nature too everywhere protect everybody's life from such havocs in future as we all have witnesseed it in the past in Bhuj & elsewhere. Quake Experience: I was in the dentists chair( what can be more scary ) and I felt the chair and the water in the cooler in front of me shaking. My doc asked me " If I was in any pain " . And no sooner all the patients in the hall started panicking and moving out . The doc dint quite know what hit him.
Infact in the morning when i got up the TV muted on its own . I thought well the cable company is up to something. Well all became clear afterwards.
It was the first time I felt an earthquake . Just the power of the force is amazing.

Today, in the morning, I was in bathroom and just putting off my clothes and smelled shampoo, suddenly I felt that everything is shaking aroud me. I thought it is because of shampoo but in few seconds I realised that its not shampoo but earth quake, I put on my clothes back and rushed out of my flat with my family. I found many other families were already there. Thank god. Everyone is safe around here.

Quake Experience: It was horrible to feel the intensity and the duration for which it lasted.
I would have missed it had my breakfast man not ringed the room bell so early(7.00 a.m).I was reading Financial Express sitting on the charpai, when suddenly my body start shaking.Initially, I thought it might be a morning sickness.But, when I saw ceiling fan, windows, walls,keys in the door lock dancing, I was sure an earthquake was happening.The length of quake forced me to leave the building, as I was on the first floor.Downstairs I saw all the neighbours in the garden(safe place).I was the last person.Actually, I was shocked and I was looking at ceiling fan, door, keys,windows dancing as all this was unbeleivable for me for few seconds.I feel sorry for the people who lost there life in this terrible natural phenomenon.And I pray that whenever this happens in future all people reach safe place, so that there is minimum loss of life.Nature is really very furious since lasr 2-3 years, killing people in thousands.It is time to study nature more thouroughly, so that earthquake prediction can be made possible with best accuracy.May God bless you all!

it was an experience i don't want to feel it again. i was taking a shower. bucket starts moving. then i realise that its an earth quake. as i stay on the seventh floor and in no postion to run even so i decided to stay back and saw my fan swinging and only name came first is god. i keep reapeting help us god. and things get okey.
