In Mumbai, he realised, once again, that photography was his calling. He also understood that he could click away the whole day without getting bored or tired in the least. On the other hand, he felt "very bored" while dancing.

Though he was an assistant, Iqbal taught him a lot like a teacher would. "He made me do exercises in photography. He reviewed my pictures, commented on them so I could re-shoot and improve them. It was like studying in a university. There was a strong urge in me to achieve perfection and impress Iqbal."

When his parents finally realized he was not coming back to dancing, they accepted his decision gracefully. "They were disappointed, but allowed me to do what I wanted."

Back from Mumbai, Satyajit began doing regular advertising assignments. But somewhere in the deep recesses of his mind, he knew he was most passionate about automobiles. Perhaps it had something to do with Iqbal being a photographer of automobiles.

Going by the way the industry functions, however, it was impossible for a fresh photographer to get automobile assignments.
