From: Sridhar Ganapathy <sganapathy@ix.netcom.com> Date sent: Thu, 7 Nov 1996 01:27:31 -0500 Person Nominated: T N Seshan It was T N Seshan's cleaning (though not yet complete) of the electoral process that brought about a sea change in the body politic of our great country. More than that, he gave many other Indians, especially the people in sensitive posts the moral courage to stansd up and speak out, for what they think is right, and not be cowed down by those in power. The judicial activism that we are witnessing now is a direct effect of one man's crusade agaisnt the mighty and powerful. In cleansing the basic process of elections in the world's largest democracy. It is this courage of T N Seshan that rubbed off on few others and I am confident, in days to come, one is bound to see many others spring up, to take cudgels agiasnt those 'mighty' and 'powerful' who are corrupt. Hence I vote for Mr T N Seshan.
