Reasons : For his marvellous job as Cheif Election Commissioner during the Loksabha General Elections. He brought us some hope that one day our elections would be free and fair. We need a lot more people like him.

Reasons : In a country where elections were always rigged Mr. T N Seshan proved that by strict control and enforcement of Judicial Powers the world's largest election process could be conducted peacefully. It was achieved only because of the CEC and not by any political parties. He could conduct the same in most notorious states like Bihar & UP where elections were always rigged and in J&K in a peaceful manner. The outcome of the elections are not in the CEC's hands which were rested with the people for this sorry state of affairs. Hence I nominate him as my choice of the year.
