Once you see this film, the comparision will not be done. It's like saying all love stories are the same. They are not. So my film has nothing do with Provoked.

Videsh is inspired by a play called Naagmandla. It's not a long film, there's only one song in it. It deals with other issues as well, like immigration and loneliness in alien land. I don't want people to watch this film with preconceived notions.

Once you watch this film, you will realise that it is about hope, not about a deglamourised role.

Do you think Indians will watch this film in theatres?

I feel Indian audiences love good cinema. Videsh is a good film made on a tough subject. I got the Silver Hugo Award for best actress at the Chicago film festival. It is a good film and I feel you should watch it.
