I worked on my Punjabi language. I only knew words like 'sasriakal, balle balle' and 'Ahao'. I learnt the language.

Tell us about Deepa Mehta.

She is an outstanding filmmaker. The kind of intensity she brings in actors' performance is amazing. I am thankful that she gave me this opportunity. I have loved her films, Water and Earth 1947.
