How tough is it to make a cricket oriented film?
I will advice people never to make a film on cricket. I had all the illness and ailments that anybody could have during the film's shoot.
The climax was the toughest part. A cricket match had to be captured by a number of cameras from all angles. But we had just two or three cameras, and shooting like that was difficult. We took three nights to shoot the climax. I choreographed it with by co-writer Kannan Iyer.
Why did you choose Anu Malik to score the music?
No one else in the music industry has the sense of melody that he does. I love his sense of melody. He instantaneously gave me Balla Utha -- the song has a lot of madness to it.
Was it a tough film fnancially?
We wanted to make it more economical but it wasn't possible. So many cricketers and live matches will obviously cost money. Manmohan Shetty was very helpful, he supported me.
