'It was a task shooting with cricketers'

What kind of training did Harman go through?

Praveen Amre coached him for four months. Initially, he trained two hours a day but by the time we started shooting, he was training for eight hours.

Tony Greig thought he was a real cricketer and praised him. What more could I ask for!

How was the whole experience of shooting with the cricketers?

It was a task. We had great support from the Australian team and they allowed us to shoot live in the stadium. It is very expensive and time-consuming. We have to shoot according to the cricketers' convenience.

We used a lot of graphics for the crowds. We shot the cricket scenes and the stadium crowd scenes separately and then mixed them together.

How difficult or easy is it to direct cricketers?

It was more difficult for them to play as per my instructions. They were not acting, they were just being themselves.

I remember someone saying how easy it would be if cricket was actually played under directions. It was fun working with the cricketers. Brett Lee would play the guitar when we had free time.

What can we expect from this film?

People will be able to relate to the Vijay Shekawat. If you remove the cricket element, everybody will have something or the other common with him. People will be inspired and they will move from smiles to tears at the end of the film. All the cricketers liked it.
