How did you manage to shoot and cope with your studies? You're in Class XI, right?
I had finished my 10th standard when I shot for the film. The shoot was more or less during my holidays. My principal is very supportive. Right now I'm taking private lessons (in commerce).
This is your second experience of shooting in Andhra Pradesh... (she shot for Iqbal near Tenali in the state)
I've been to Hyderabad a few times. After Maqdee I was invited here for the Commonwealth Games (2003). Then I came to the city to inaugurate a garment store. I shot for Iqbal in Tenali and Kotha Bangaru Lokam in Rajahmundry, Vizag and other places. So I started my career as a heroine here. Every step has been special.
So you have fond memories of Andhra Pradesh besides Hyderabad?
Absolutely. Now that I can speak the language, I can go any time.
Have you learnt Telugu?
Yes. You know what I did to get the complete accent? I used to request my driver to speak with me in Telugu so that I could get the basics and the accent right. So all the credit goes to my driver as well as the make-up artist, my hairdresser, assistant and the staff with whom I interacted in Telugu.
