Nominee Spotlight: Tony Gilroy
Things didn't come easy. Tony's first screenwriting assignment, which came when he was 30, was to write up a Chuck Norris film which never got made. In a curious parallel, one of his dad's novels once got unexpectedly turned into a Charles Bronson film.
Today, Tony routinely laughs off the early effort. Things came to fruition a couple of years later when he got to pen director Paul Michael Glaser's The Cutting Edge, a romantic comedy, literally on ice.
