Soori, a painter, started his career as a back stage worker of performing arts. He also did work as an art director in several tele-serials and worked with directors like Yogaraj Bhat and B Suresha.

It was Bhat who gave him a break as a dialogue writer in Mani. The dialogues of the film were well appreciated. He then assisted Bhat in Ranga S.S.L.C. for which he also wrote the dialogues. Then he assisted Sadhu Kokila in Suntaragaali and Anaatharu.

Soori's big break as a director, however was for the film Duniya starring Vijay. He himself wrote the story. It is said that he had included some of his real life experiences in the script. The film was a roaring success!

He also got several state awards and many other prestigious awards for his script and direction.

Now, Soori is back with his latest film Inthi Ninna Preethiya with Sreenagara Kitty and newcomer Sonu in the lead.

The film is being jointly produced by Soori and his mentor Yogaraj Bhat.
