Mani Ratnam (Tamil)

A Mani Ratnam film is always eagerly awaited and the announcement of any new film by him is a celebration not only in Tamil Nadu but in India as well.

His film Roja made him a nationally well known filmmaker. Today, every actor in India says it is his/her dream to work in a Mani Ratnam film.

Yes, a film by him is always a Mani Ratnam film and not the film of the actor however big he is.

He may not get the kind of money like say, a Shankar film, but the brand Mani Ratnam is much bigger than all the crores put together. Mostly, he produces his own films.
