Laura Leggett Linney once said she was the worst at reading and writing in her class, all through school.
Considering the 44-year-old is a three time Oscar nominee, one assumes the trait didn't translate to script discretion.
The pretty actress is up for Best Actress this year for The Savages. Here's a quick look at five Laura films that should be on your must-rent list:
The Truman Show (1998)
In Peter Weir's disconcerting vision of the world as a reality television show for Truman Burbanks (Jim Carrey), Linney played an actress hired to play Truman's wife, Meryl. It is a role demanding sunshine despite clear deceit, and won Linney critical accolades. As Truman begins to realise his world is fake, Meryl must be fake and adlib constantly to keep the actor in the show -- and stay smiley through it. It's a performance impossible to overlook.
