Linney's first Oscar nomination came only two years later in this small indie by Kenneth Logerman. Linney plays Sammy, a single mother dealing with all sorts of real and imagined conflicts. Mark Ruffalo and Matthew Broderick do very well, but this is Linney's film from start to scratch, and the actress shines.
