Gopika bid farewell to films after marriage, but not before giving a strong performance in Akku Akbar's Veruthe Oru Bharya.

The film revolved around an exhausted housewife, who was not treated well by her husband (played by Jayaram). One day, she decides to call it quits. Her character was named Bindu, which meant a dot. According the director, the name itself suggested that her life was not going anywhere.

Months after its release, Veruthe Oru Bharya is still running to packed houses.
