Aapathabandhavudu (1992)
Yet another K Vishwanath film wherein Chiranjeevi had a de-glamorised role as Madhava (who is a cowherd and a loyal friend and servant of Hema, i.e. Meenakshi Seshadri). They both fall in love but societal divisions do not permit this. Owing to circumstances Hema is sent to a mental asylum. Madhava also gets admitted in an attempt to rescue her.
Chiranjeevi gives a spectacular performance in the movie. His acting in the scenes in the asylum especially when he is electrocuted is outstanding.
Though the movie did not fare well commercially, it is best remembered for the splendid performances of particularly Chiranjeevi and Jandhyala, who made his debut as an actor, and of course for K Vishwanath's eloquent storytelling skills and great direction.
