In this A Kodandarami Reddy directed family-centric film, Chiranjeevi as Madhusudana Rao, aka Chinnababu, portrays the role of an aspiring football player who in fact is chided by one and all in his family for his passion for the game.

His friend Priyadarshini (Bhanupriya) helps keep this interest alive. When his father (played by J V Somayajulu) fixes his daughter's marriage and requests his sons for money, it is Chinnababu who rises to the occasion by donating his kidneys without anybody's knowledge. It's only later that everyone comes to know of Chinnababu's sacrifice.

A heart-warming film with an endearing performance by Chiranjeevi. This film had the same storyline as the Hindi Saaheb (which released before the Telugu one) where Anil Kapoor played the Chiranjeevi's role.
