This is Chiranjeevi's first major hit -- a turning point in his career -- a film which propelled him to stardom and the top slot in Telugu cinema -- one which he has occupied since then.

In this film directed by A Kodandarami Reddy, Chiranjeevi is Suryam an angry young man who is falsely accused of killing his father and sister by the village landlord (Rao Gopal Rao).

In fact Suryam avenges the death of his father and sister in the thrilling film. Chiru gave a riveting performance in this revenge drama filled with action much to the delight of his fans. Madhavi is the heroine of this film.
