'When we hear their applause, it is a huge amount of adrenaline going inside us'

Amitabh says because of the desire of the promoters to have sophisticated and lively shows, organisations such as Wizcraft, who have produced the Unforgettable, bend backward to make the event memorable.

The actor also talked about the special nature of stars-led Indian shows. [Don't call them Bollywood shows, he told a journalist, adding that he does not like the word Bollywood. "I know it has got into the Oxford dictionary but I still don't like it," he said.]

The live shows, featuring the music and dialogue from Indian films, is a 'unique concept,' he said. "I don't think a concept like this exists in the West," he explained. "In the West, you have regular musicals and plays that people watch and some of these musicals actually become films. But not the other way around. So the concept of shows coming out of India is unique. We're very proud of it, and I hope we can keep adding to it as the years go by.

"The idea is that performers are re-creating Hindi cinema content on stage," he continued. "What you have seen on film, you will see on stage, except that this will be our own interpretation of it. That's how all our concerts are designed. It's not going to be different from any other concert except that the way we present it."

How much was he involved in the creative aspects of this show? "It has been a team effort," he said. "Once we [Abhishek, Aishwarya, Preity Zinta and Ritiesh Deshmukh] decided we wanted to do all the shows [in various cities], we sat across the desk, so to say, and worked on the creative aspects. Given my experience, I don't know if it is valuable now; it's been a while since I came back on stage again. And really at 66, this is no age to be performing on stage. But whatever little I could pick up from my previous tours, I gave those inputs. And we have a lot of young and fresh talent with us. They gave us their inputs and we composed something which so far has gone extremely well."

He expects the audiences at each show to 'provoke us, give us the inspiration, when we get on the stage.'

"When we hear their applause, their roar and scream, it is a huge amount of adrenaline going inside us," he continued. "That is very encouraging, to say the least."
